It has been awhile since Logos released new base packages or new upgrades...
Income tax money is around the corner, it would be a waste for Logos to miss this opportunity.
What do you think Phil Gons and Faithlife team?
I have no "insider" knowledge, but I would expect new packages to come out this fall. It appears that FL is now on a roughly 2 year cycle.
I agree with your assessment of the major version update cycle.
However in the past between major upgrades FL had released brand new base packages. For instance not all denominational bases packages are at Portfolo level so there is scope with those packages to introduce new packages. That said I don’t think they have the denominational specialists they had in the past who would have worked on these new packages so I’m not surprised there had been none.
Whether Mike was thinking along the lines of this i don’t know.
Personally I am happy to wait till 8 for new resource base packages.
Logos has been steadily releasing new base packages. In fact, just in the past week four new base packages were released. However, all these newly released base packages are aimed at different international markets: Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean and German. If you can not read any of those languages these packages will be of no use to you, although it might be worth your while to check their contents for "hidden" English resources (e.g. if I wanted to buy the UBS Handbook Series I would save almost $300 by buying the Korean Gold package).
I can understand that as an English speaking Logos user you would prefer that the (undoubtedly vast) amount of work involved in producing these base packages had been invested in producing English resources and upgrades. But in the end the market for English Faithlife resources will also grow when more people in non-English speaking countries start to use Logos.
There's always March Madness.
Otherwise known as Faithlife Connect user backlash... :P
