Refresh homepage?

If I leave Verbum running on my MacBook overnight, when I bring the program up the next day the readings and other items that are date specific still are on the day before.  I have to completely close the program and reopen it before it recognizes that the date has changed and refreshes things on the home page.  Is there a way to do this without completely quitting and restarting?

I believe you want fn-F5 as per https://community.logos.com/forums/t/147948.aspx

  • Over the last week this has generally worked.  Thank you.  However, it seems to have a slight bug.  If Verbum is already running when I sit down at my MacBook first thing in the morning and hit <Cntl><F5> it will refresh the homepage.  Or at least it correctly refreshes the daily readings list on the sidebar (left side pane).  The only glitch is that it brings up LOTS of additional items on the right side pane including the Verse of the Day (which is not one of the checked items under content when I click on the "gear wheel" in the upper right corner of the screen next to my name) and items from books that I have hidden.  If I click on the aforementioned "gear wheel" and uncheck one of the items and then recheck it and close (basically making no changes) then the right pane refreshes and everything is as it should be and as it would start off if Verbum hadn't been running already and I launched the program for the first time.

A minor bug to be sure, but a bug all the same.  Hopefully somebody from Faithlife will see this and add it to the bug list.

Ctrl-F5 is a special keyboard shortcut that displays a special predefined homepage layout used for presentations. It's actually a mistake that this is even works on Mac (it doesn't on Windows). You'll just want to use F5 instead.

  • Thanks for the quick reply.  So it's a bug, just not the bug I thought.  LOL  In any event now I know how to do it the correct way.  I'll try it tomorrow and we'll know once and for all.  God bless.
