So to keep the Web app features I want, I will have to move from Logos Now at $99 a year to Faithlife Essentials at $200.
Say again?
Really?
To say I am disappointed in Logos is an understatement.
For clarification: the web app is free. Which features do you want access to?
The stuff in the right column of this chart. The things I now get with a Logos Now subscription but will have to pay 2X to keep.

I have chosen to use a Chromebook as my only computer -- and my computer experience goes back to the days of IBM clones, DOS, etc. I am a very experienced computer user who abandoned the Windows/Mac world for a simpler, (nearly) thin-client ChromeOS environment. I can do anything on the Chromebook I could do before: edit video, documents, photos etc etc. I even use it exclusively when I'm in Africa without a good internet connection. ChromeOS for me is superior in every way.
Except one. The only way to use Logos without Window is through the Web App and a Logos Now subscription. And it works pretty well (supplemented with BibleARC). I do lots of work in original languages, searches, structuring, etc.
So a Logos 7 feature set does me no good. I buy only the books I need, like commentaries and language tools. So for a couple of years the LN and Web app approach has worked well. But many language tools are in the FL essential package. The $99 is my limit. I can't go higher, so I will lose functions. But I have too much invested to quit.
I will figure this out and make something work. I am just tired of this money game when my needs are pretty simple.

The web app is now free for all users, whereas it used to be a LN only feature. I am unsure what features you would lose if you owned the feature sets rather than had the LN membership.
For several months I used the Web App without a LN subscription and it was not nearly as functional. See the list of features in the Faithlife link I included above. Many original language features are only in the more expensive FL plan.
I guess I will soon find out what it is like without a subscription.
Likely a FL employee will have to give specifics, but there are two problems with your premise: First, the web app has been evolving, so what it is today isn’t what it was. More importantly, however, is that it sounds like you have never owned any of the features. When you first used the web app, it would indeed have been sparse! The links I provided above, however, would give us a good idea of what you do own.
