Is it true that some Logos Now members were transitioned to the Starter package while others were transitioned to the Essential package?
Yes
Thanks. Any idea if FL has commented on why this was so?
I asked the same question. Perhaps FL will get around to a comment on this.
It's likely that those users had additional subscriptions that were rolled into FL Connect (Cloud, MEd, etc.).
I don't think that's the case. Or if it is, it's not the whole story. All we've been told is:
There are a variety of factors that determined the level, and the promo code and the level of Connect are not interlinked.
I had to search for it high and low but I did remember something (underlined part)...:
And just for the record I think that every Logos Now subscriber should have been moved to Connect Essentials. This! The fact that FL migrated LN customers to different Connect plans greatly bothers me. The lack of transparency regarding the criteria used to determine "who got what" just doesn't make any sense to me and seems rather flawed from a customer relationship perspective. Everyone should indeed have been migrated to Essentials at the very least. As it stands now however, I am having a hard time fighting off feeling a bit insulted and slightly put off by the implication that my, as my wife points out, "enough to buy a 2018 Kia Optima Hybrid" investment makes me an inferior customer only deserving of a lateral to Starter. I can deal with the price increase, the fact that I might in theory be paying for resources twice, or if FL just decided that nobody would be migrated, but a lack of fair and equal treatment makes my blood boil every time. I had the same question regarding why some were migrated to FLC Starter and others were migrated to FLC Essentials and speaking with a representative from Faithlife yesterday I was told that if you were in a current one year subscription to Logos Now you were migrated to FLC Starter and if you had multiple years of subscription to Logos Now in the queue that you were migrated to FLC Essentials.Another thing that I discovered in this conversation was that if you want to upgrade from FLC Starter to FLC Essentials you would be given the option to pay the total amount for one year for $199.99 and not have to make monthly payments. If you go to the Faithlife Connect web site and check out the pricing this one time annual payment feature is not listed but rather has to be initiated with contact with Faithlife. What is available at the site shows that the cost for a one year subscription for FLC Essentials is $19.99 paid monthly for 12 months so there is roughly a $40.00 savings if you are willing to pay out the $199.99 up front. The other option of course for the Essentials package is to pay on a monthly basis at a rate of $24.99 per month. I thought it was kind of interesting that the web site makes no mention of the ability to pay for the entire year at once and that I had to seek out this information via phone call to Faithlife.

Of course, as anyone can obviously tell, this is not official so ...
Yet, it's unofficially very helpful! Thanks for sharing.

This is what I was told today by an Customer Service Representative at Faithlife. I've been a Logos Now subscriber since opening day and I was migrated to 'Starter'.

FL seems oblivious to our potential loss of trust in them, when the criteria is this hard to find.

No, the criteria wasn't based on additional subscriptions (such as Cloud or Mobile Ed).
I also as far as I remember, subscribed to FL Now at the very beginning and I also have starter. That even though I also purchased the features that LN was giving to me. The dynamic pricing at Logos must be very complicated and that causes many glitches. I do not know if I should have been migrated to Essentials or not. FL can either give a clear explanation or we can assume that it is so complicated, that some will be migrated incorrectly
I’m on the Starter Bundle. I don’t have the budget of some guys here and I only came in to Logos (properly) at the end of 2015, but I bought L6 Gold and L7 platinum and I’ve not had a month without Logos Now in over 2 years (had to word that carefully as I was late in renewing by a week once). I’ve bought the extended feature set too, and it’s rare that a month goes by without me getting at least one or two titles.
The mystery of it all is the worst thing - if they said it was some kind of uber-reward for people who’ve paid $10k plus it would make sense and I could kinda put it to rest. As long as it’s in this vague territory it’s just gonna keep niggling at me.

That quote should not be attributed to me; I only reposted it. The original is here.
