Hi,
I am a happy Logos user, and appreciate the development of technology in helping us to studying God's Word. But a have a few experience in the way Logos is trying to achieve sales that I find it very misleading and I hope that when we are buying resources, we can be provided with all details.
Here is my complain.. or suggestion.
I add a lot of resources that I would like to purchase into 'save for later', so that I can check easily when they are on discount by going to my 'save for later' list. A few times I got an email from Logos, suggesting that they can get me certain resources in my 'save for later' list for just a small increase in my monthly payment. They would say right now I have a few payment a month that will sum up to... say $100, and they would say that they can consolidate all my various monthly payments, and with maybe $10 additional a month, I can get that great resources for the same period of payment period. At first it seems to be a great offer, i was thinking there must be certain kind of discount that Logos offer me... but after some digging, it turn out that this is just a sales scheme of saying thing and selling thing... it turns out:
I have a few monthly payment on resources, like a $50 payment that will be paid off in 2 months,.. a $25 payment that will pay off in 4 months.. and maybe another $25 payment that will be paid off in 12 months... so their suggestion is.. since i am paying $100, they can consolidate all into a payment of $100, and i just need to add another $10 a month, then i can get that great resources...
So basically, without all the various payment in front of me... Logos sales will try to give me an illusion that the great resources will only cost $10 a month.. seems to be great... but they never remind you and clarify with you that... that means you are paying $75 more for 12 months more for almost $1000... They will not mention i have the $50 that will be finally paid off in 2 more months... they will just say.. $10 more...for the same payment period (which is the payment period for my longest remaining payment of the lowest amount payment...)
I just hope that I don't have to be doubt about what is actually costing me behind the sales message every single time when Logos is trying to sell me something... they are not lying, but the method used is certainly misleading. It will be best if the sales guy just say.. this resource will cost me this much... but i can help you to spread the payment this way...... and then explain the actual case.. and not the other way around... that i have to figure it out what the sales guy is actually proposing...
I enjoy and appreciate the Logos software, and this is the only negative experience i have so far.
Thanks!
Benny
