The Seventh-day Adventist church does not teach that we are "predestined" to heaven or not. They teach that we chose to accept the gift or not.
And thus there is a problem with Thursday’s lesson 2018 Q2 Lesson 4 (page 35 of Standard Edition) 49 Teacher’s edition
Ephesians 1:4-5
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, KJV4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— NIV 84
How do we teach this without implying that the saved were "predestined" to be saved and if God did not like you too bad you were not invited to heaven?

I know I am very late in answering this,(only just joined), but it is very easy to answer your question. God predestined all of us to be saved, but we have to choose to accept the provisions for that salvation. Had sin never entered this world all would have been safe, however. after it did God provided a way of salvation for all and as in the case of Cain and Able. one choose the provision and one did not. All MAY be saved, but it is up to us and our choice.
