Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could search for every time that an attempt to take Jesus' life took place?
A quick suggestion is <Person Jesus> NEAR death, plot, kill, condemn. Ensure Match all word forms is selected in the Search menu.
There will be some false positives to sort out.

A clause search for verb-sense:to kill patient:Jesus will give you lots of results.
But I don't think any search is going to return Luke 4:29, for example, so you'll never get perfect results.
