Not to pick nits but, the HP Slate is supposed to run a touch-optimized UI, based on Windows 7 Home Premium. That probably wouldn't be the bottleneck for running L4. More than likely if Logos 4 will run on the modified windows 7 it wouldn't run well on the Slate because of its limited processor (1.6-GHz Intel) and limited RAM (1GB of DDR2 memory) . If the reports are correct on its specs.
Here is the link to the min/sug requirements to run L4

There are people running L4 on less (little 10" notebooks), but as I understand it preformance is an issue with the larger packages.
Nevertheless, my hope is that an iPad alternative comes out soon that is a bit more, well... beefy!
I think a forum user created a video on using the iPad with Mac beta, but I can seem to find it...yet. Looking...

Kevin, I'm hoping that your [much anticipated] review/video will also talk to the user experience of remote consoling the L4 PC desktop application via the iPAD...both WiFi over Internet (not inside the host LAN) and via the 3G connection.
Sorry, I cannot comply since I don't have a 3G ipad. I did finish the videos and posted them this morning. I say videos because Youtube has a 10 minute limute and originally it was 16 minutes long. I posted two of them so that I didn't have to cut anything out.
I have not used the Logos iPad app via my remote LogMeIn, but that is not a bad idea for a write up.

Could have been much better but it is what I have.

There is a good chance the slate will not even be produced - see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/16490.aspx
But more to the point, the Ipad is great, I use it all the time. It is not a notebook replacer - yet - although when the apps to exchange / sync files become more usable, and L4 gets more features for it, it might be.
As for L4 on the Ipad. So far, no highlighting, which is one of my favorite and most used features in L4. No notes, which I use mostly for personal study, but like to have available. I believe that those things will come in time, but there is no timetable for any features in the Ipad version. You can "zoom" it, or at least change the text size to what you would like in all apps.
I do not use my Ipad for study on L4 yet, I like too many programs open (Word, L4, evernote), but I use it for reading in L4 and other books (I may never buy paper book again). I use it for my daily reading plans. I also use the Ipad for my daily planning, calendar, note taking, tasks, email, and much of my time on the internet.
Hope this helps.

Not sure I understand your questions, but... Yes it uses wireless internet - you can get the 3G version, but it is more expensive, it basically uses cell phone technology. For me, the wireless internet version is just fine.
You can change the text on L4 to very large for reading, if that is what you are asking. Of course the bigger the text, the less content that is one one page, but changing pages is very easy.

Not all books are available on the Ipad yet. Also there are no layouts - just each book full screen. You have faster access to the books you read most often by selecting them for offline reading, which downloads those books to your ipad, the other books are downloaded as needed, but not stored on your ipad.
The L4 app in the Ipad is not the same as L4 on your computer, there are lots of differences. It is not nearly as powerful on an Ipad as on your computer. If you are wanting all the windows L4 features - you will probably not to not be happy with the Ipad.

Thank you Michael, Perhaps ,as the technology is getting faster progress, waiting one two month can perhaps make a lot of difference.

I agree that the Slate (if and when it comes) would have trouble running L4 with its processor.
However, you could run L3 and do a lot more than you can do on an iPad, which is pretty much just read some of your books.
Or am I mistaken?
I hope HP or someone produces an alternative to iPad that has a USB port, flash, etc.
