Help with creating Men/Women Responsive Songs

I'm in our second week as a church using Proclaim. Overall, I love it. However, one thing has been causing me to tear my hair out: trying to figure out how to do men & women responsive songs.

I've attached two pictures: One is how we used to do a song in Powerpoint, the other one is how I've tried to set it up in Proclaim.

There must be a better way to do this in Proclaim, and I must just be blind to it. I can't imagine that Powerpoint can easily do something that Proclaim is completely unable to do.

I've tried creating a smart media song template to mimic how we did it in powerpoint. However, the must be a text box cap in smart media because it always deletes the final one I need. So that isn't working.

This would be easily fixed if I could custom bold/colorize particular words in a song, but it doesn't seem like Proclaim lets us do that? I choose the formatting option for one sentence and it changes the format for the whole thing.

I want to avoid importing the powerpoint as images, because I want to be able to custom format the song in Proclaim.

Note: the image with blue & white text is from Powerpoint.

Somebody please help!

Update: I figured out a halfway solution by just making the song through "content' rather than "song". However, I'd still love to know if this is possible to do through song instead.

Hey Ben,

Your best bet is by creating the song lyrics in a song slide, but using shift+enter to create line breaks. This will insert line breaks without creating a new slide.. You won't be able to change the font color for multiple text, but you can do the following: (see screenshot)

Once the song is created you can then insert your verse order. E.g Verse 1, Verse 2 and etc.

Thanks for the idea, but it’s not going to work on some more complicated responsive songs we sing. For example, we sing a song where the men and women basically sing two different parts for the entire chrous. In power point, this is very easy to set up. Just do two text fields and put them side by side. Can’t do that in the song Items.

My work around us with content items. One content item is for the title slide. Then the other content items are lyrics with two text boxes side by side. Basically, each content item is a slide.

If anyone from Faithlife sees this, a great update would be an option for responsive songs that allows us to adjust two lyrics fields side by side that can each be uniquely formatted. Seems like a pretty easy upgrade, comparatively.
