    HI Rick,

I'm sorry you've had a frustrating experience with this. It seems like the ultimate solution here is to allow highlighting across multiple pages while in paging mode. That's something that's on our roadmap.

The two-fingered scrolling feature is something that we might move away from, since it's not really discoverable and isn't a common mobile convention in e-readers.

That's fantastic news, Daniel. Thank you. Highlighting across multiple pages while in paging mode is something I have often wanted to do, and it is in fact a better solution than two-finger scrolling (as multiple page highlighting allows you to highlight more than one whole page if needed). I often use highlighting across multiple pages in Kindle, and have been very happy with the experience.

You mentioned that you like other apps that allow you to page while in a scrolling view. Which apps do you think do a good job of that?

Thanks for sharing, and I hope we can move towards a solution that works for you.

Thanks for considering this possibility. One app that I have used that does a great job with this is Moon+ Reader, one of the most popular Android reading apps (10 million+ installs). It works this way by default.

Well, it was "discoverable" on v5 mobile apps (probably earlier) and useful for fine adjusting position e.g. to start of a chapter, pericope, etc. Degrading it in v6 has brought forth this response.

Please don't! It is a useful feature.

Yes! I use it every time I'm reading on my iPad. It's one thing that make the app better as a reader app than the Kindle app (and there aren't many such things).

    Thanks,

    Donnie

Hi, Daniel!  Thank you for responding.

Yes, I agree that highlighting across multiple pages while in paging mode is an important feature.  But it would be equally important while in scroll view.  It doesn't currently work on my Kindle in either mode.

As far as two-finger scrolling goes, I'm not at all hung up on using two fingers for scrolling.  For me, the goal is simply allowing both page-turning (with a tap in the margin) and scrolling (whether with one finger or two) at the same time. Why does it have to be an either/or situation?  Doing full page turns is fine much of the time when reading, but there are times when it's helpful to be able to scroll back a few lines or paragraphs so you can see a particular section of text all on a single screen.

Regarding other apps that allow both page turns and scrolling, I have to confess it's been so long since I've used anything other than the Bible app that I couldn't remember the app names.  Thankfully, Devin helped jog my memory for one app with his mention of Moon+Reader.  I haven't used it in a long, long time, but as I recall, it had arrows you could tap for full page turns but it also allowed for scrolling (one-finger if I recall).  There was another app I used for epub books, but I can't remember the name.  For the last several years, all my reading has been of Logos resources.  It's just be too long since I've used anything other than the Logos desktop app or the Android Bible app for my reading.

Please bring 2 finger scrolling for Android back (or fix it so it works correctly). It really seems insensitive to customer needs to remove a feature (or allow a bug to cause it to not work), suggest it will be fixed, not fix it, and all the while it works great on another platform (ipad). I just want it to work the way it used to.

It might seem strange and unrelated (but I think it is) but I don't use Logos on my Android for teaching or preaching any more because I don't ever know what the page is going to look like (what is at the top) and I can't get it back easily. I have even used Olive Tree for this because of its "Move to Top" feature so that when I look at the page it looks the same (eye-mind memory that I miss with a paper Bible). Probably no one else cars about this.
