β3 not downloading missing resources
I'm not sure if it's a bug or what, but I'm sure I read that missing resources were supposed to be downloaded. I have 2716 resources showing on my desktop and only 675 on my laptop. And yet after several restarts on the laptop, there's no indication that any download is happening.
Should it?

I'd like to know exactly how many resources I have in L4.
1. The Indexer file says that 2091 files were indexed
2. L4 library tells me I have 2047 resources
3. In the L4 resource folder, the install program has copied 2034 L3 resources and there are another 37 L4 resources downloaded. That makes 2071.
So how many do I have?

Not yet. (Sorry for the confusion.) In Beta 3, we are only downloading resources for the beta test (reverse interlinears, syntax databases, Biblical People/Places/Things, a few rebuilt Bibles). We have not yet made all resources available for Logos 4 to download automatically. This will probably happen in the Beta 4 / Beta 5 timeframe.
Until then, you will need to manually install resources with the "scan" command (e.g., by copying them to a flash drive, or scanning across the network).

The indexer counts resources that don't appear in "My Library". For example, the indexer counts each OT and NT reverse interlinear separately (plus the primary Bible text itself), whereas My Library unifies them all under the primary Bible.
If resources had been deleted from the Resources folder, the Indexer could still be looking for them; those 20 would index very quickly (because they can't be found). That could possibly explain why it counts more resources than there are files.

Just performed a scan \\network\path\Libronix\resources and there is no indication at all that the command was accepted. We need something to indicate that it worked.
I know it worked because I restarted L4 on my laptop and got the dreaded indexing... Pulling over 2000 books across my network and indexing them... yeah this is going to take awhile.
