I picked up a course free of charge - Thanks again FL - and can I renew it or extend the gratis six month time period?

Yes, when the next 6-month coupon is available, you can use it again on the same course.

Note that you should wait until your first six-month access to the course expires, before using the new coupon, or the second six-month interval may overlap your existing access to the course (giving you less than 12 months total).
