FIXED - Logos 8 fresh install crashes everytime I search
Hi
Logos keeps crashing whenever I search.
It is a fresh install of Logos 8 in Windows 7 64
I open a search box; type original sin
Logos immediately crashes.
Infinitely repeatable. All searches crash. Something very wrong.
Have not even got to try Logos 8 because it crashes on every search.

I'm wondering if it is not because of some sort of missing support file like Dot Net?
The programmers test computers probably have all the latest updates. I don't.
Updates bog down the computer and cause problems.
For example my updating from Logos 7 to Logos 8 was a mistake. The old logos worked. The new one won't even search.
Very dumb of me. I paid to break my Logos.

Narrowed down the crash a little bit
I got it to search as long as it is not set to search everything.
If I change search to All Resources it searches without crashing Logos.
Tried to narrow it down more by removing all my personal books.
That didn't help. It still crashes whenever a search is set to everything.
Bummer to not have a functioning Logos.

Searching everything includes some sections that only appear when online. Hence, one troubleshooting idea is changing Program Settings for Use Internet to No followed by restarting Logos then attempt an everything search.

I set the internet to no in Logos and restarted.
After setting search to Everything and searching it crashed.
This time I clicked view details on the error message.

That line looked interesting that says:
Problem Signature 09: System.IO.FileFormatException
So I googled it and found someone who got that error in Logos 6 and resolved it by installing a Windows 7 Platform Update

It is an 11MB file from Microsoft.
Downloaded. Going to try installing it now.

Solution: Update the Install Platform Update for Windows 7 SP1
Install the "Platform Update for Windows 7 SP1" to fix the problem.
