Remote gives 'Slide Change Error' after phone turned off, slides changed on host computer, t

Hi,

Someone kept on getting the 'Slide change error' on our iPod touch we use as a Controlling Remote on Sundays.

I've worked out that in the Prolcaim Remote (Apple) you get the Slide Change Error after the remote set to control Prolcaim is turned off, and then slides are changed on host computer.

Bug: When you turn the remote (phone) on again a) you cannot control the slides anymore, and then once it seems to connect again you get the 'Slide Change Error' and it never really works again.

Reproduced on an iPod Touch and a recent iPhone 9 so I don't think it's the device. Proclaim is running on a Mac.

Please help as the remote is very unstable like this and my pastor is unlikely to use Proclaim for our other services when the remote is failing like this - it's just my service I run that we're using proclaim for at the moment.

Please could others test this in their setup and see what you get.

1) Control Proclaim from your remote

2) Turn your remote off (OK technically the screen off not physically off!)

3) Move on some slides in the presentation using the computer Proclaim is on

4) Turn the remote (screen) back on and see if you can control the presentation again - I find here even the slide is not updated on the Remote

I don't allow an iOS device to sleep while controlling. That would be just like intentionally terminating the control session.

Unless specifically designed, iOS apps are typically suspended when the screen sleeps, which will interrupt network updates to the app. This is done to extend battery life. Once the iOS device is awakened, any app running will attempt to refresh. However, Proclaim doesn't handle interruptions well, especially network interruptions.

If the controlling iOS device ever "goes to sleep" while I am controlling, I will always have to terminate and restart the app, then restart the control session.

I'm experiencing something slightly different. I was actually able to regain control, but only after advancing on the desktop after re-opening Proclaim. Would you be able to send us some log files? You can save these by going into the settings menu, and select "Send Support Info"
