The Academic Sermons volume is well worth picking up, especially if you have Randall Smith's recent volume from Emmaus Academic--Reading the Sermons of Thomas Aquinas--which is included in the Liturgy & Theology Collection as well as the St. Paul Center Level 3 Library. Glad to be able to pick this one up for under $10, as it goes for close to $50 in hardcopy.

Smith writes the following in the introduction to his work:

"We also now thankfully have in print an English translation of all of the extant sermons done by Professor Mark-Robin Hoogland, C.P., Thomas Aquinas: The Academic Sermons, published in the Catholic University of America Press series “The Fathers of the Church: Mediaeval Continuation. (I have used Hoogland’s fine translation in most cases while preparing the present book, although I have, in every case, checked his English translations against the original Latin text from Leonine 44.1, which resulted in my taking the liberty of making several minor emendations to the English where I thought appropriate.)

A final note to the reader: Following along with St. Thomas is undoubtedly the best way to learn what this book hopes to teach. Indeed, the author has no greater hope than that the reader will get his or her hands on a copy of Fr. Hoogland’s translation of the sermons (see n. 5 above for the reference) and have them at his or her side as he or she reads this book. This book is above all meant to inspire the reader to go back to the texts of Aquinas with greater understanding and increased appreciation for the art, the craft, and the genius of the Common Doctor of the Church." (xx; xxiv)

Thanks for the information.  I just purchased logos 8 with the main purpose of studying Aquinas. Any pointers others may have would be much appreciated.

The academic sermons is worth buying first if you are thinking of buying “The Doctors of the Church” collection, as buying the single volume for 8.99 dropped the already sale discounted collection that contains it by around 13.50.

St. Thomas is our January saint of the month, so he is indeed featured in the monthly sale.

    Enjoy!
