I was Totally shocked, as are many others, to see the notes completely disappear when all we are trying to do is change the Highlight style.
We cannot delete the old highlights and add new designs without deleting the Anchor notes as well.
This is problematic for sure.
The only notes that remain are the notes that are pinned to the "Verse text" itself - (I.E. 1 John 5:7).. It is anchored across all the bibles at that particular verse text and cannot be easily removed even when changing highlights on the passage. All the other notes and anchors, however, are easily deleted when changing the highlights to the passage.
If I want to link 'one word' in any random Bible version, The note will be vulnerable to accidental deletion when altering the Highlight styles. However, when using Hyperlink in the NOTES, like Logos 7, this was never a problem. Hyperlinks were never affected by changing the highlight colors and style. The links to the notes I mean. I sure hope they are planning on bringing that feature back SOOOOON..

Who ever gave you the "crazy notion" that Ctr+Shift+K was designed to change the color of your highlight? You simply change the style within the note (or use restyle annotations from the highlight palette if you wanna make a system-wide change).

There was a thread somewhere about that. Ctrl-Shift-K is explained in help as "erase highlighting" and the context menu command "Remove annotations" means to remove the annotations (=notes and highlights) to a verse - and it's not mind-reading to understand that erase=remove=delete. Use such commands at your own risk!
Moreover, I think it is not only smart but even gracious of FL to not really delete the written notes but to keep them as unassigned - and even if we tell the program to really delete something, Logos will keep it in the trash can of the New Notes to allow for undelete. They are less careless with our data than we are.
A command labelled "erase highlighting" shouldn't remove anchor points for notes, surely?

It is suggested as a Key Board Short cut by LOGOS themselves. lol
If you open up the highlight toolbox
in the upper right corner, you will see the word "Erase"
If you Hover your mouse over it you will see the Key Board Short cut suggestion (Ctrl+Shift+K)
That is who suggested it. lol
to Change the Color of your highlights you cannot just choose another color, but you have to DELETE the old color first.
By deleting the old color you will also delete the annotations attached to it.

the Erase shortcut Suggestion is in the HIGHLIGHT control BOX - Hover your mouse above the word "erase' - there is no mention that - oh by the way- you will also delete your notes when you delete your highlight color.
It is mind-reading to ASSUME that it will inadvertently DELETE your notes as well as the Highlights, especially when the Keyboard short cut is Suggested in the Highlight Color Toolbox itself.

Also, if you look at Logos Help, it says the purpose of Ctrl+Shift+K is to "Erase Highlighting". That's it …"Erase HIGHLIGHTING". [8-)]
I know is it for erasing Highlight. WHy is it also removing the NOTE attached to it?

I think this is because highlights technically are notes without text, attached to a "by selection" anchor. So if you invoke the command, the program deletes all those anchors, and (possibly: if this is the last anchor of the note) the respective properties, such as note icon, note icon color, highlighter.
This is not correct, and it should do this only for annotations of type:highlight, not for those of type:note
GM. I am endeavoring to learn the new L8 notes system. When I opened a cmty, I saw a note that I had highlighted. It also had an icon attached that I had not attached. I highlighted the text, clicked control+shift+k & the icon was gone but the text was highlighted in a different color. I've tried multiple times to select the text & control+shift+k to get the highlight completely gone. It will not "erase." Thanks for your insight.
A new thread with a screenshot would be helpful. Is it possible that you have a search window open?
