    Kolen, I did try messaging you but I couldn't figure out how.

    In order to avoid "spam" and harassment, Faithlife configured the PM functionality that you can only find and message people with whom you are in at least one group as a member (which may be a bug or unintentional). You'll see this when you click on the name in Faithlife.com, it will say "you know xxxx from ABC-group". One of you could set up a group just quick and the other one joins it as a member.

    I used to be a member of Christology group and thus could have PM'd Kolen:

    I temporarily left the group and now I can't find Kolen anymore in the system and couldn't PM him:

    This even though we are both followers of group "Free Faithlife Books" (this may be a bug or unintended consequence of the change from members to followers in many groups). If I try to PM him, my list is not empty as yours, but shows about ten different names somewhat matching his.

    Note that the group Christology has changed their settings so I can't rejoin as a member but only as a follower, and thus this group doesn't help you both. But setting up a group for only the two of you is a two-minute thing.

    EDIT: or you use another way, as I see you have chosen in the meantime /EDIT

    Have joy in the Lord! Smile

    Correction: only articles regarding copy rights are last blogged in 2012, there are other stuffs blogged this year.

    Yeah, they blog on loads of stuff. Often articles are final drafts of articles that have been published in journals. Some times they make available draft manuscripts of entire books they've written.

    I remembered reading a couple of articles on copyright and file formats etc - which was why I posted the link. Obvious well out of date now in terms of technology but I think the ethics and principles they've put forward are sound and worth considering. Whilst we can't discuss them here (cf. Forum guidelines), I hope others will read them and they'll help crystalise/nuance some points of discussion on this thread.

    Kolen please email publicarchives4@gmail.com when you can. I'll respond with my normal email address.

    Maybe we should request a more coherent PM system because this is almost unusable. I mean I realize spam is a potential issue but I don't think many people here are going to do that. I could be wrong.

    This is intentional. Logos Bible Software, for example, has 50,000 followers: https://faithlife.com/logos-bible-software/activity

    We assume that you follow the group because you're interested in Logos Bible Software, not because you want to be able to receive DMs from any of the other followers (whom you most likely don't know).

    I understand I think. I have two things to say, one of which is off topic. I'm asking for a way to PM/DM people that I end up talking to directly on this forum. I don't want to message 50,000 people, only people here and there, like Kolen Cheung as we may have some mutual interests.

    The other thing is, where Is the place, "logos.books" or something, I can't find it, whcih maintains free logos formatted books. Someone posted it, But I cannot seem to find it.

    EDIT: I found that page but they don't seem to be formatted into Logos.

    While I understand Faithlife want to minimize spam, I think it got to have some way for them start to initiate contact with each other. Using facebook as an example, they can ask someone to be friends, one can decline or accept, and after that they can message each other.

    I don't use Facebook anymore, and hope that Faithlife can be a worthy alternatives to something like Facebook. (It is over-powered and has too much of its own agenda and in some sense rightly so because we are the products. Hopefully Faithlife being able to make money else where can provide a truly free alternatives where people can trusted they are not being sold. Also, consider something like Noet for Faithlife, i.e. a platform shared with Faithlife (like how Logos and Noet are shared) but with a different brand for non-believers.)

    Another question, is the messaging between members in Faithlife end-to-end encrypted? Will it be under government surveillance such as the U.S. and China?

    P.S. sorry for the digression again but its a follow up on an already digressed topics... (Yay, we all loves PBB and let's make it a better tool!)

    Yes, Better would be 'better' but lets get an agreement that it will always be a part of the action at least for our personal use.

    Good point. When was it last improved? It seems it hasn’t changed much since Logos 4? May be new type added but fundamentally it’s the same as in Logos 4?

    (I wish interlinear will be supported.)

    done

    "Support for richer tagging" or a better integration in the software functionality (e.g. "Theology Guide") would also be important for me.

    Hello Phil, Adding question boxes to a Personal Book causes the compiler to choke. The unfortunate thing is this use to work. I'm formatting my question boxes like this:

    {{input id=QUESTION_1 | type=text | lines=10 | prompt=“Type”}}

    Changing the Question number each time I add the above code to a document. Can you please get this fixed.

    Hi Pete, I suggest starting a new thread for this issue in order to increase the chance that you will receive a useful response.

    {{input id=QUESTION_1 | type=text | lines=10 | prompt=“Type”}}

     I successfully used  {{input id=IDENTIFIER-1 | type=text | lines=2 | prompt=“Type”}}

    Make sure QUESTION_1 is unique to the book. Try a smaller number of lines.

    Hello Dave,

    Thanks for your help however, I copied and pasted your code by itself, as is, into a docx file and then tried to build the book. Unfortunately, the same thing. PBB choked. Since you were able to do it that tells me it must have something to do with my OS. I guess I'm stuck until I get a new computer. Once again, thank you for your help. God Bless. Pete.
