Verbum 8 Notes: Adding a new anchor to a non-biblical resource by reference rather than by selected

I want to add an anchor to an existing note. The resource to be added is not a Bible. An example is the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC). What reference form do I use when adding a reference (rather than selected text)? The same question is applicable to one or more commentaries to the Bible.

For the Catechism, it is "CCC number". However, there is no single simple answer to the question. In general, if you look at the reference box in the resource, you can find the standard reference ... over time you learn those you use frequently. In actual practice what I do is use selected text for the first from a source and then modify the sections/paragraph ids for other items in the source. Most are pretty self-explanatory.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Thanks! I've thought CCC # might be right, but it doesn't seem to work on any of my Surface devices. I type in CCC 2198 (a valid paragraph number) and nothing is suggested (that's what happens when I type a biblical reference: the actual cite is suggested and I select it). If I simply click add, the process is aborted. Have you experienced this?

On the beta, I'm getting different but equally bad results. I'll report it and get back to you if I get a useful response.

The news from Philana (Faithlife) is bad ... she will add this to the request to support more datatypes. Translation: it doesn't work because they didn't make allowance for the usage. One must use the selected text approach. However, we may have hope that it will be added in the future ...

True ... we as users need to be better about keeping FL informed as to what really matters to us. They are quite responsive when there is push-back from a group of users.

For now ... but also affirm every related complaint/suggestion that gets posted ..."it drives me nut, they need to fix this" is sufficient.  After Logos 9 comes out, if it remains a problem then UserVoice and vote count pushing may be needed.

    Here's hoping.
