Bug with eBooks already owned not showing up as owned when they appear on Logos.com
Here's an example. I already bought Literary Introductions to the Books of the Bible by Leland Ryken when it was available only as an eBook.
It is now offered on Logos.com as well, in what I can only assume is a Logos edition. Previously whenever this happened, people who already owned the eBook would automatically get upgraded to the Logos edition. But it is showing that I don't own it.

It would be very easy to accidentally re-purchase a book that I already owned because of this problem.

The Logos edition has a different resource ID from the Vyrso edition (which would explain why the ebook wasn't automatically updated to the Logos edition).
FL would have to let us know whether or not the wrong resource ID was used for the Logos resource.

No, it's the eBook edition.

That would explain why Logos.com shows that I don't own the book.
But this seems to be happening more often lately. (I've noticed it several times before but neglected to document it until this instance.)
I'd like to know whether Faithlife is just being careless about releasing Logos editions and not using the same resource ID, or whether it's been a change in policy that if you already own the eBook you would get automatically upgraded to the Logos edition. Perhaps they are wanting more revenue now for doing the work to convert books to Logos editions. That would be fair enough, but I haven't seen that policy change articulated, if indeed it is an intentional change. And if it's just an accident, then I'd want there to be some systematic sweep to clean up the discrepancies.
Otherwise we'll all have to notice it by accidentally realizing we have repurchased a book that we already owned and report it to them. (That's if we even notice it at all. I used to find that I had two copies of a book when the eBook had been upgraded to a Logos edition. I'd simply hide the eBook edition, after copying my tags from it to the Logos edition, and any highlighting -- usually there's none. But now I'll have to wonder whether the duplication of book titles is because I accidentally rebought it.)

I am a bit concerned about this as well. I purchased a Lexham resource today. Yet it does not show that it downloaded today or that it is a new resource added to the Library. I searched the library and found the resource and went to add it to favorites and discovered I had already added it to favorites. How was that possible? It seems to me I may have purchased the book before but when checking my records, I cannot find an record of purchasing it before. So I dont know.
What I do know is that from this experience tonight, and from what Rosie has written, I plan to always check from now on to be sure a resource is not in my library before purchasing. That is extra work, but it sure beats spending a lot of time going through orders to see if I had purchased it somehow in the past.

There are a number of reasons this can happen: often, the publisher has made a change to an edition or an ISBN number or they've re-printed an international edition with a different title. For all kinds of reason I can't really get in to (or that would take way too long to explain) we sometimes don't catch these when we get a book for Logos.
When this happens and someone brings it up, we usually go back and check the contents and if they are essentially the same (e.g. no new introduction, notes, etc.) we just unlock them for the user.
Of course, sometimes we just miss something. In this case, when we or a user notices it, we unlock the Logos resource for everyone who owns the Ebook and then retire it.
