Can Logos do what Accordance does with Greek/English side by side
one of my favorite bible teachers uses Accordance when he makes presentations. He has a screen with English on the left side, and Greek on the right. As he moves his mouse over the English words, the corresponding Greek is highlighted.
Can Logos 8 do this? If so, how can I do this myself?

This is done by turning on "corresponding word" filter (see options under visual filter menu [three circles icon])

Corresponding Words can highlight same lemma in Bibles:
Corresponding Words can highlight same lemma and same root:
My favorite Logos feature is visual filter highlighting that combines hundreds of search results for simultaneous display so can "see" range of Greek verbal expression plus more:

So you'll know where he's coming from, the teacher in the video holds to the 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith (i.e. reformed Baptist).

Always interesting what I am still unaware of!
Keep smiling; very interesting—did you create those palletes yourself, or is your last pic from a built-in capability i’ve Not discovered yet?

That was Mobile Ed Course BI161 where Dr Heiser addresses a number of passages that are not handled well. One of the tools he highlights is the Visual Filter feature, however he doesn’t explain how to do it in detail. I had to go to Logos help documentation for that, but it wasn’t too difficult. “Keep Smiling” seems to have developed a very impressive and comprehensive system using visual filters to help understand original language.
LA161 mobile ed course is also great. Johnny Cisneros demonstrates how to use Visual Filters to help understand Greek tenses and things like that. Sort of similar to what “Keep Smiling” has done.
I got the above courses during some promotions. They are quite expensive unfortunately so maybe not what you were hoping to hear. The Logos help documentation is very good so you can learn to do this if you need to without having to buy anything.

Thread => more inductive symbols includes screen shots of Faithlife group where visual filter and highlighting palette document(s) can be freely copied into your Logos/Verbum installation(s).
