Is there a reason you have not upgraded to V8? You can do so for free assuming your computer is compatible.
This is indeed great news - I find the selection of resources to be very telling on two points (1) the multinational approach to Bibles and (2) the degree to which the resources are not "denominational". Good Bible study is truly good Bible study, across multiple traditions.

While I applaud the multilingualism, it's adding about $100 to the purchase price. It would have been even better if there were perhaps a couple of versions of this package - a multilingual version and an English version.

I suspect that the Pontifical Biblical Institute built the collection with the various universities/colleges of Rome in mind. (Much to my delight those include the Collegium Russicum which also trains Russian Orthodox priests.) But, yes, there is a market for an English based package.

Bullseye!, I actually own a lot of base packs: V8 Portfolio [H], St. Paul Center Lvl. 3 [C], two L8 Silver [li], "Unfiltered" [S], Academic Pro [8-|], and a couple Starter purchased with coupons [ip]... And now: just waiting for a good discount to purchase Biblicum!! I can also think about the multilingual background for which the package was intended, and I'm thankful for the German and Spanish translations; but I wish for those "public domain" versions to not weight too heavy on the overall price... [mo]
And, totally agree with M.J! Noteworthy in the critical level of Bible study: «Truth is like gold: no matter in whose hands it is, gold is worth gold» (I mean... Just look at the author lists of Hermeneia or AYB).

Hi all,
Glad to see the interest in the Biblicum Standard! It was launched two weeks ago, in anticipation of the Catholic Biblical Association's Annual General Meeting July 27-30.
The package is intended to reflect, as closely as possible, the exact package the faculty and students at the Biblicum are using. The school's package was designed in collaboration with their then Dean of Students (there is a new Dean starting new academic year) Fr. Peter Dubovksy, SJ. The package was not designed with other schools in mind, but specifically with the needs of the faculty and students at the Biblicum.
To the comment about more or different packages, we are planning to design several more packages in collaboration with the Fr. Peter and others at the Biblicum. This package and further Biblicum-branded packages have been a part of the conversation with them from the beginning.
There are several titles that the Biblicum has in their package that are not available in the package we've made available to the public. They are few, mostly from publishers who don't normally allow us to put their content into base packages, but got special permissions for the academic bulk license.

Thank you Mr. St. Clair. I see that Logos Spanish packs are discounted 20% too, but Verbum Spanish packs are not... Is this a mistake?

Thanks for the questions about the Biblicum Standard package. Dynamic Pricing won't reflect the Verbum Now features since you don't actually own them.
We have the side-by-side comparison for the main Verbum base packages, but we don't have a way on the website, right now, to compare other base packages that we create outside of the main product offering. Your best bet is visit the product page while logged in to see what resources in the package you own and which ones you don't.

One other quick note and point of clarification. The Biblicum Standard packages does contain the features that are in the Verbum 8 Full Feature Upgrade. The current promotion of 20% off takes $500 off the package price, which would take care of most of the cost of that Full Feature Upgrade.
If you were to upgrade to that package we could work it out so you don't pay for the same features twice, which is the whole point of the Dynamic Pricing.
