Is this the best of all possible implementations of collections of excerpts?
For purposes of thinking this through, I am using Jurgens, W. A., trans. The Faith of the Early Fathers. Vol. 1–3. Collegeville, MN: The Liturgical Press, 1970–1979. which is a very standard reference. The Ignatius Press. The Companion to the Catechism of the Catholic Church: A Compendium of Texts Referred to in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Second Edition. San Francisco: Ignatius Press, 2002. is another good example of the need.
When I do searches on Canons of the Ecumenical Councils Nicaea 1, Canon 1, the text in Jurgens shows up as a reference to the text rather than an instance of the text. Logically it is an instance of the text - without any commentary and in this case, it is the entire text. Doesn't it make more sense to have this modern translation show up as an instance of the text in searches and the Context Menu?
I propose that in resources made up of text extracts be tagged with Milestones rather than datatypes as they contain the actual text not a reference. It may be worth tagging with both so that an easy route to the context of the extract be retained.
