I am a retired information technology consultant and have always used multiple monitors for work space. At age 72, my personal goal with Logos is to take one final deep dive through the Bible. That journey has launched a mild distraction from my goal as I have included teaching an adult Sunday school class and a small group and therefore losing control of the study order of the books of the Bible.
My approach to teaching is simple. I use the NavPress Life Change series which provide a guided study of the each book of the Bible. I use the product Naturally Speaking to read the entire book into a MS Word document. I going to read the book anyway so this is only a little extra work. Then I create a Logos "Personal Book". I work through each lesson in in the MS Word document while keeping the Personal Book open to take advantage of the hyperlinks through all my opened Logos resonances. While NavPress supplies a fair amount of historical, cultural, and Bible dictionary type of information, I always find additional Logos resource info to add. I constantly rebuild the personal book often to keep it in sync.
Now to my computer. I use a laptop that has 16 Meg RAM and a 512 GIG solid state drive. I use two Dell 34 inch monitors. These displays are daisy chained together. Dell supplies a utility which allows each display to be broken down into display sections. As you can see in the above picture, the Logos maim screen is opened full screen on the left monitor. The right monitor is divided into three sections. The first section holds a Logos floating panel of the Bibles and resources being used in the study. The second section contains the Personal Book copy with all the available Logos links and personal content for the lesson. The third section contains the NavPress MS Word document being studied. The current study in the book of Judges. I use Layouts specific to the materials chosen for each study with always open on both screens.
This will all change as I continue to use the MP Seminars Online. There is lots more for me to learn about using Logos.

Hey Liam I think we need to have a voting contest on what we think is the 'best or coolest' desk look.
Have a closing date.
open to all FL subscribers
maybe even get in touch with someone from FL and have the winner on our home pages. FL Community contests. Maybe even suggest a new thing for us. Community Contests - FLCC (Faithlife Community contests) I can see a whole lot of things around this.
anyway my two cents worth.
I know who would get my vote.
mm.
Liam said:Ok ok. I know this doesn‘t have much to do with Logos Bible Software...
But, I was wondering what everyone’s Logos Command Station looks like.
So, if you’re Feeling bold, post a pic of your desk where you use Logos at! I want to see it in all it’s glory! (And dust!)

I wanted to post a photo of my desk, but apparently a photo hosting service is required...?

Amazing! And by "Bible", I meant that Apple-looking thing with the screen.

Connected to my 27" iMac (with Retina 5K Display) is a 42" monitor with 4K resolution and DVD player.
Personal quirk is using ELECOM M-XT3URBK Mouse Wired Trackball Grip 6 Button, Black on 27" iMac & Windows laptop.
Keep Smiling [:)]

It a Samsung 49 inch CHG90 Gaming Monitor 144hz 1ms (LC49HG90DMNXZA) - Super Ultrawide, QLED, HDR, 1ms gaming monitor with Freesync. (Copied from web). Does not have speakers built in which is drawback. I have it hooked up to a ASUS - Zephyrus M 15.6" Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (again copied from web). I think the monitor does not look great without a gaming video card.
The best thing about it is that it has opened up some new layouts for reading and study and note taking that make Logos even more functional for me.

Holy cow! I'd love to have that one, but I'm afraid I'd have to sell my business and golf clubs to get that one. But it sure is nice looking. Pretty hefty price at Best Buy. cha ching

Interesting to note that several of you still have paper Bible or paper books in addition to Logos!
Paper books work like extra monitors, and as an additional bonus, the paper books normally keep their location.
In Logos, the layouts quite soon start drifting or jumping to unintended locations.
I feel it is a nuisance, but perhaps all others are happy with it?
In this example I started studying Job 32:2, and, after one mouse click all milestones jumped to Luke 14:28 except the guides on the left
Gold package, and original language material and ancient text material, SIL and UBS books, discourse Hebrew OT and Greek NT. PC with Windows 11

Yes it does cost about the same as the set of golf clubs- but I don't play golf!! [:)]
I could of spent that money on an upgrade to Logos too, but decided on the monitor because I don't even use all the resources I already have in Logos.
It really helps with my work also, I often have 5 programs open and it lets me see a lot of info at without a lot of tabbing back and forth.

You don't play golf?? oh my [:)]
However, like yourself I and I'm sure some others don't even use all the resources we have in Logos. Funny thing though? We keep purchasing more of them. often on impulse.
I think you made the right decision. As fore me? Maybe new irons next year.

Quote out of L8 will follow:
“Jonathan Edwards, some of you have heard of him. He was a Congregational minister in New England 200 years ago. Listen to this little note from his prayer diary:
“Once, as I rode out into the woods for my health, in 1737 … I had a view that was for me extraordinary. [The inward eyes of my heart were opened and I saw the] glory of the Son of God … and his wonderful, great … pure and sweet grace and love. The person of Christ appeared ineffably excellent with an excellency great enough to swallow up all thought and conception, which continued as near as I could judge [as a condition of me, for] about an hour, which kept me the greater part of the time in a flood of tears and weeping aloud. I felt an ardency of soul to be … full of Christ alone; to love him with a holy and pure love; to trust in him; to live upon him; to serve … him.”
Now I don’t know about you, but when I read a statement like that, this is what I think. “Is this guy in the same religion I’m in?” Maybe I’m in the international league, and he’s in the big leagues or something. Don’t be discouraged. He was experiencing the presence of God at a heightened degree, and the presence of God is something you cannot push buttons and experience to the same degree when you go before him in your private prayer or when you come together and go before him corporately, but what the Scripture teaches is we expect far too little of this. We expect so little reality in our lives.”
Keller, T. J. (2013). The Timothy Keller Sermon Archive. New York City: Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
Some denominations seem to be out of touch with their heritage.

I agree!...will it be necessary though?.....I don't think so!

With that view, I might be too distracted to read - but I bet I'd get a lot of praying done!
