Plans to Allow for Side-by-side Feature in iOS 13?
Headline says it all.
I know other Bible apps already have this support. Would love to see that in Logos. Current beta of the mobile app doesn't support it, at least on my iPad.

Thanks for the suggestion Kevin. We have been talking about it. Would love to hear how in particular you would envision using the feature.

You could have four at once. I don’t understand why an iOS iPad app wouldn’t want to include such a big part of the new os. Especially when the competition is using it. Makes logos look behind the times.

I think the official name for this is Multiple Spaces, but could be wrong. Side-by-Side sounds much better, though!
I had hopes that this would work naturally and that developers would not have to make changes to their apps for this feature to work, but it looks like this is not the case. I would be nice to have a Bible open on the full left hand side, then have a commentary on top right and notes on bottom right. That would be cool!

Yes, Multiple Spaces is the correct term. But it is not just about having two Logos apps open side by side each other. It means that we would be able to have multiple instances of Logos open in multiple spaces. So you could have a Logos app open by itself in one space, and another open side by side with your word processor in another space. And a third space could have Logos side by side with itself.

I don’t think 3 spaces is possible. I just tried with Safari which supports the feature and you can only open 2 windows at once.

Oh, I see what you mean. Not all on screen at once, but on different screens.

By the way. I mistakenly said the competition supported it already. But I’m pretty certain that a few will certainly support it very soon.

Right...Apple's terminology is spaces, not screens. See here: https://www.apple.com/ipados/

It still would be very helpful to have Logos support this feature. Logos next to Logos would be great when writing notes, prayers, etc and still have the left being fully visible. Logos next to different other research tools and notes tools in multiple spaces. For instance I often keep Logos in a side by side with Notabillity or NoteShelf But when taking notes while doing deeper research I like to open Evernote next to it. being able to have Logos in multiple spaces would be super helpful. I ran into this today and had to lose everything I was doing and switch logos to working with Evernote. As a couple of the posters on this page mentioned its a great feature of iPadOS and after nearly 12 months we still don’t have it in Logos. Would be happy to help with beta testing if needed as well. we all love you guys and all the hard work you do on our favorite Bible platform. Thanks!

I‘d settle for the ability to have Logos open in the large screen with a second Logos open in the tile. Generally i prefer to have Logos open to whatever resource I have open with my notes open next to it. Currently I take notes in Drafts 5 and copy and paste to move them in to logos (that workflow could use some work as well). I don’t always need 3 or 4 things on the screen at once, so to swipe a tile over without losing sight of my place in my commentary would be supreme. This would also be useful to have one of the guides in that slide over tile. They don’t provide enough of the “right kind” of data to justify staying on the screen the entire time, but again, I don’t like losing my place on the screen to select the next resource. Another way it would be useful is to have linked ESV on top and UBS5 or BHS on the bottom on one side (a makeshift inter linear view) and a note or a commentary open on the other side. Generally, when tiles are stacked (iOS or iPadOS) the screen real estate becomes too small to do any long form reading, so they become quick reference areas. I’ll try to take a screen shot as an example.

Nice, I've been doing something similar with the Logos and Verbum mobile apps side by side.

These are all great use cases. Not sure why we are having to prove the need here its a standard feature for modern apps to support on iPadOS for the last year. Regardless of how different folks will use it.
Yes I dont want my main window to move if I add Logos to Slide Over, Sometimes I need a second passage/book/prayer/etc using Slide Over or Multiple Spaces would be very helpful. I would keep one Logos in split screen with GoodNotes 5 for my daily personal study and keep those setup how I use them each morning. Another Logos might be open in a Space with Evernote for various studying that I might be doing at any time or a Logos with Messages. Or Logos and Logos with another Logos in Slide Over. Everyones mocked up pics are great too. We'd all be happy you test out the features on Test Flight for you as always.
