Someone in my book group at church recommended this book by Ken Untener. He's the author of the prayer often misattributed to Archbishop Oscar Romero, Creating the Church of Tomorrow. In this book he tells about how he and several other priests had a weekly sermon critique group that met for four years; they would submit tapes and transcripts of their previous week's sermon to each other, to a journalist, and to a systematic theologian; then all meet to discuss what works, what doesn't, why, and how the homily can better become a part of the community's prayer.
