Is there any portent of a logos 9 arriving soon? Just thinking of going into a payment plan and don't want to tie myself up to find something else to pay for!

Not likely. Logos 8 was released in October last year, and they've been roughly on a 2-year release cycle for new major versions. So I would expect Logos 9 sometime around Fall 2020.

The current product life cycle is 2 years. It used to be 3 year. A yearly release has not ever happened as far back as I can remember and certainly not with the current ‘LBS’ (4.0-8.0). I don’t recall it happening with LDLS (1.0-3.0) or the versions of LLS I used prior to that but too long ago on the later to be 100% certain.

While I can’t guarantee you as I don’t work for FL, the signs of the times don’t indicate what would be a surprising 1 year product life for L8 and I think would catch many off guard.

    No.

Portent is a delicious, rich word.  It is worth the post to chew on the word.  But alas, probably no 9 for awhile.

This is apparently a glass half-filled test. Assuming a two-year cycle, we have passed the "hump month" and are into the territory where FL has likely outlined what is coming in L9 ... but not put it in concrete yet so we can still have influence on it.
