I know this must be basic, but how would I search a certain word as it is given as a command? Like "believe" when it is given as a command.
Nevermind, a little more searching brought up this post. http://community.logos.com/forums/t/93501.aspx
Which helped a lot.
Hi Joey
Since that post we have had the introduction of propositional tagging which gives another option as below - search string "believe WITHIN {Section <PropositionalOutline = Command>}"
Thanks, Graham. That works even better.
search string "believe WITHIN {Section <PropositionalOutline = Command>}"
Search string can be expanded to include negative commands plus root related words
({Section <PropositionalOutline = Command (Neg.)>} OR {Section <PropositionalOutline = Mandate (Neg.)>} OR {Section <PropositionalOutline = Mandate>} OR {Section <PropositionalOutline = Command>}) INTERSECTS (<Sense to believe (accept)> OR <Sense to cause to trust> OR <Sense belief> OR <Sense good news> OR believe OR faith OR trust)
Found some English words lacked <Sense ###> (e.g. Jude 22 faith in NLT) and 1 Co 16.13 faith translation has <Sense gospel content ⇔ faith> that is a grandchild of <Sense good news>
Search can be expanded to include 1 Peter 2:17 by adding <Sense church> for believers
({Section <PropositionalOutline = Command (Neg.)>} OR {Section <PropositionalOutline = Mandate (Neg.)>} OR {Section <PropositionalOutline = Mandate>} OR {Section <PropositionalOutline = Command>}) INTERSECTS (<Sense to believe (accept)> OR <Sense to cause to trust> OR <Sense belief> OR <Sense good news> OR <Sense church> OR believe OR faith OR trust)
Keep Smiling [:)]
