Bible Speed Search: Reconsider & Request
Bible concordance searching is a frequent activity in Bible study. So much so, that it really deserves easiest access possible.
Version 3 took a great step in placing the Bible speed search icon on the toolbar and with 1 click, away I go.
Version 4 needs something like that as well. Not buried behind the search icon with three other choices.
Suggestion: Just like the command box, have a bible search box (maybe at the top, next to the command box). The settings for the box can be set in "program settings" or where it makes sense. Also, the results should integrate into the workspace like the "show information window" does.
Can I get any AMEN?

Hi John,
You can use the Command box to start your Bible search. Just type bible search for [query] and press Enter. For a basic search, type search for [query]. Could you clarify what you mean by having the results integrate into the workspace like the "show information window"?

Hi Melissa,
Typing bible search in the command box is not much different then clicking on the search icon. I am looking for a step saver.
Imagine doing this 30, 50, 100 times while you are studying...
The idea that I am trying to convey is doing a frequent task (bible concordance searching) in as few steps as possible.
I created a "sample" image of what this would look like in version 4.
1) The bible speed search at the top, searching for the word live
2) The prioritized bible that came up is identified
3) There is room for the search results/stats
4) The search results include only the bible reference and the text in the same place where the "show information" window would appear

1) Notice the bible speed search at the top, searching for the word live
There's merit in that, but have you considered:-
- CTRL+F and type "live" in Find box +
- right click "live" in bible and Search this Resource +
- change search word for further searches?

Control+f would be a great way to get at the "bible speed search" instead of a box at the top.
(Again the downside, for new users, not intuitive...)
However, still need a search result window to review all the results that are not cluttered (just need reference and text)
Many times I am looking up another word that is not from the text I am studying or even the same translation...

I keep a "searcha all open resources" basic search button on the tool bar...one click...type the ref...done.

Hey I do that too!
But, I am simply looking to search only 1 bible not all my open resources.

Couldn't you have a Bible search set up to search 'All Passages' in one Bible, and drag that to the shortcut bar? Then all you have to do is click search shortcut, type query, and go.

Hey Melissa, that is a great suggestion. I will try that.
