copying footnotes
I copied a portion of a commentary to a Word document. The commentary has footnotes that I hoped would go to the Word document as well. They didn't. In the program settings, I have all the copy citations, footnotes to yes.
What am I missing?

It's working for me on Windows, which playform are you using?
Can you post a screenshot showing the relevant part of Program Settings?

nope. I don't know how to do screen shots. I've tried, but I'm doing something wrong

If you are able to take a screenshot you can upload it to a post using the paperclip icon

I looked up how to do a screen shot. Said to clip on top of screen, press alt-printscreen, and it saves it to clipboad.
I clicked on the paperclip and it asks for a file. I don't see a way to post a screenshot here.
