Audio Volume

Is anyone else having major problems with audio on these videos. When he is on the screen he is SUPER loud and it changes pretty frequently making it hard to use. I have to keep my hand on the volume control. are there any corrections to this. It goes from blasting to not being able to hear at all.

I had hoped for much better quality.

Yes...this has been noted and I believe that they MIGHT address it....not quite sure.

Volume changes are simply unacceptable. I would expect this problem to be fixed ASAP or full refund.

I am also having problems with some files taking a long time to load - have had to reboot.

I am also looking for someone who can tell me how to have the whole DVD come up with chapter headings for each topic - rather than having to load each talk invidiually.

Video quality is generally good and, although some of the material is too basic, once the audio problems are fixed it could prove to be a helpful resource.

I haven't noticed dramatic changes in volume (albeit it I am only four lessons in on the Greek side). I have noticed fairly obvious shifts in the tone of the audio between the head shot and the demo, but I can live with this.

In terms of the delay in loading, have you copied the files onto your hard drive? I ask because others complained about stuttering, etc, and it seems the solution is to play the media from the hard drive and not the DVD.

In terms of your request for chapter headings, Dennis Audit has helpfully worked up an Excel spreadsheet with hyperlinks to the individual chapters... You can check it out here.

Lesson 6 of the Greek has severe audio muting in sections. That was where I first noticed it. A definite hinderance and I would be looking for the fix when it comes (along with the others).

I also noticed the problem with the volume on the Greek lessons. You can also tell there were many times when the audio was edited (pops).

The Greek letter Delta was omitted from the Alphabet lesson.

At least the sound is better on the Hebrew lessons.

The problem I am having is with the Greek and it is bad. The Hebrew at least on my computer is fine in all the videos I have played.

Chad and everyone,

You might try this (what I did).

- Copy the *.MOV files to a folder on your hard drive. (I idid separate folders for GREEK and HEBREW)

- Make a shortcut on your desktop that points to his folder.

- Click on your shortcut, it will open the folder showing the videos and select the lesson you want. Using the videos this way I get nice response video load time and the volume seems more consistent. I am on Greek #11 and have been experiencing no problems.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET TO THE FILES:

1. Use Explorer or My Computer. Select your CD/DVD Drive where the disk is loaded.

2. Click on the folder, "Learn_to_Use_Greek"

3. In that folder, you will see the folder, "videos", click on it

4. Select all *.MOV files and copy them to your folder. Takes a few minutes

Hope this helps some of you enjoy the disks a little more. I for one love them......
