Treasures of the Fathers of the Church Series
Saint Paul Brotherhood Press

This series should appeal to the same market as the Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture and Popular Patristics. Think of it as commentaries on the Gospels - even though the Gospels happen to follow the Gospel readings of the Coptic Church.

  • The Friend of the Bridegroom (Luke 7:28-35)
    • St. Cyril of Alexandria
    • St. Augustine
    • St. Irenaeus of Lyons
    • St. John Chrysostom
  • You Shall Love the Lord (Luke 10:21-28)
    • St. Cyril of Alexandria
    • The Scholar Tertullian
    • St. John Chrysostom
  • Today Salvation Has Come (Luke 19:1-10)
    • St. Cyril of Alexandria
    • St. John Chrysostom
    • The Scholar Tertullian
    • Pseudo-Matthew the Apostle
    • Pseudo-Clement
    • St. Augustine
    • St. Gregory of Nazianzus

Some other church fathers included in this first volume include:

  • St. Ephrem the Syrian
  • St. Ambrose of Milan
  • St. Athanasius the Apostolic
  • St. Gregory of Nyssa
  • Eusebius of Caesarea
  • The Scholar Origen
  • Gregory the Great
  • Bede the Venerable

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    Looks good to me.

Going by their authors' list, it looks like convincing Bishop Serapion that this is a good idea could help that aspect of things.
