BUG - Highlighting STILL does not work
I give up! Yet another update and I’m still finding it almost impossible to highlight text. If I select a word a handle appears at front and back but, as soon as I touch the handle to move it over my selection it just disappears and I’m back to square one.
Do I need to mention another app that manages it perfectly well, and always has done? Even the Kindle app, which is pretty basic, works very well.
Highlighting is probably the one thing that most users want to do, yet for some inexplicable reason Logos just can’t seem to handle it.
I know the app is free but I’m sure many, like me, have spent big money on building up their libraries.
Can I suggest that you get your app programmers to actually try using your app on an android phone just so they can see the inadequacies of their coding of this function.
I’m using a Samsung S10+ and the latest beta version of the software.

Sorry to hear about the frustration - and I know you have already flagged this in the forum for the stable version of the app.
What you say suggests this has been an ongoing problem for you.
I've just tried on the stable version (8.12.5) on my Samsung Galaxy S10e and it works without any problem at all.
Can you provide more details - any chance of a video showing what you are describing?

Hi Graham, I’ve tried videoing but it is very awkward trying to film it in iPad whilst using the phone.
Basically it is as I say - select word by touching it (this is also subject to not always working), the word highlights with an ”upside down teardrop shape” at each end. Touch either of these handles to drag out to your selection to highlight and immediately the highlight and the handles just disappear and i am back to square one.
I have just found that ”press and drag to select“ was not ticked in the settings. This seems to work better but it is very difficult to get exactly the selection you need as your finger hides the text. I would much prefer to use handles to drag around.
I have had countless problems in the past which were finally resolved by switching off scrolling, but this seems to make no difference any longer. Anyway, why give us scrolling if things don’t work on it. This didn’t work on the Samsung S8 that I used to have either. Is it a Samsung thing, an Android thing, I’m sure it’s not a between the ears user thing.
whatbsort of phone are you using Graham? I might later try it on my wife’s Nokia and see if that makes any difference.

If you have not already done so, please send us your logs:
1. Open the app.
2. Tap the Menu icon (has three horizontal lines).
3. Tap Help.
4. Press "Report a Problem"
5. A pre-addressed email will open with a log file attached automatically. Press "Send" to send your report.You have mentioned that it is difficult to video your screen. Consider using these instructions to record your screen in Android, and/or these instructions to record in iOS.

Hi Joe,
I still have the highlighting problem and will get around to videoing and sending to you. Unfortunately my wife has been in hospital for 10 weeks and is not expected to live for more than another day or two. Needless to say I’ve had other matters on my mind.

Hi, thank you so much form your prayers. You have no idea how encouraging it has been to get those messages from brothers I do not know.
My wife went in hospital for a small operation 11 weeks ago. She was expected to be in hospital for two or three days. Unfortunately on the second day she had a small heart attack. From there on it has all been downhill. She has had pneumonia, sepsis twice, c-diff and various infections. They also found that she has two very leaky heart valves and a stent from an earlier procedure has partially collapsed. She now is in her very last day or so here on earth before she goes to be with who she refers to as “her Jesus”. We have had 52 years of happy marriage and I will (and am) miss her very much. Nevertheless our Lord has a strong arm and is helping me through this.
Just a final note on the highlighting problem. Believe it or not it seems to be my ‘fat’ fingers that are the problem, I got hold of a stylus and it works perfectly. So it looks as though I am going to have to put my hands on a diet,

Hi. For those of you that prayed for me and my wife......
On Monday morning she went to be with the Lord. One of the last things she said to me was "I want to go home to my Jesus". Praise the Lord that for her there is presence with the Lord, no more sin, no more pain and suffering. Although I mourn her dearly I am also joyful to know that many years of suffering have come to an end for her.
