Group Licensing / Bulk Purchasing of Logos Resources Now Available on Logos.com

We regularly get requests from users who want to buy multiple quantities of a Logos resource on behalf of a group of people. This used to require a phone call and a lot of manual work on our part. We're happy to announce that this is now possible on almost every product in the Logos catalog directly on Logos.com.

Yesterday we rolled out this new group licensing / bulk purchasing feature on Logos.com product pages (and most other Faithlife ecommerce webstores), allowing you to buy multiple quantities of Logos resources and distribute them to anyone of your choosing through a Faithlife group.

You'll need to purchase 2 or more to enable group licensing. After the licenses have been added to your group, you'll be able to assign those licenses to any members of the group through the group's Licenses page (found under ADMIN > Settings > Licenses in the left sidebar of Faithlife.com). You'll need to be an admin of the group to assign the licenses.

There are numerous applications of this. You could buy resources for your church, small group, leadership team, class, family, or any other group you can imagine. You could even get creative and use this as a way to do gift purchasing for one or more people without having to call us.

Once the licenses are assigned, they are permanently and fully owned by the recipient. They can't be revoked, and the recipient of the license will receive the same full ownership and dynamic pricing as if they had purchased the resource directly.

We'll be working to refine the messaging on product pages and make the group checkout experience smoother and clearer, and we'd welcome your feedback on how best to do that.

We understand that this won't be useful to everyone. If buying Logos resources for others isn't of interest to you, you can safely ignore it.

Based on the threads showing confusion about whether a resource is owned, might I suggest putting the group purchase in a distinctly different position from the “you already own this resource” notification?

The threads you are referencing are based on the original experience. We shipped a revised experience yesterday afternoon that should address this confusion.

We considered a different implementation that listed the group purchase as one of the "format" options. We may revisit that idea later, but we'd like to see how this revised experience is received first.

Does this mean that Faithlife will be bringing back site licensing or multiple computer licensing of Logos Bible Software for schools and churches? Back in the days of Logos Library System / Libronix, I was a professor at various schools that had licenses that allowed the software to be installed on multiple computers. I believe they stopped selling multiple computer and site licenses with Logos 4.

No. This is for purchasing in bulk multiple single-user licenses. (We'd also like to eventually solve multi-user family licenses, but it's not currently on the roadmap.) We have no plans for multi-user school or church licenses. We believe faculty and students are best served by having their own account and license set that they can take with them. Our solution for churches is Faithlife Equip, which comes with individual licenses to Logos (at various levels) for everyone in the church.
