SUGGESTION for Study Bibles
I have finally solved my technical problems and revived my Tip of the Day posts. See Verbum Search through Tip of the Day #1 ... yes, I'm back, However, I want to ensure that my examples and choice of resource be distinctly Catholic but not in-your-face Catholic.
I would like to have the top 5 most popular Catholic Study Bibles available in Verbum. Each has specific strengths that could be highlighted. List from the probably biased site of https://media.ascensionpress.com/2019/12/06/5-most-popular-catholic-study-bibles-ranked/ Those in bold are not yet in Verbum
- The Great Adventure Catholic Bible (supporting works by Cavins et. al. already in Verbum)
- The Ignatius Catholic Study Bible (another Scott Hahn and friends product)
- The Didache Bible (a theological class resource)
- Catholic Scripture Study Bible (lay and Magisterium orientation)
- The Catholic Study Bible (oriented toward scriptural study rather than theology)
Note I am somewhat surprised that the Little Rock Catholic Study Bible did not make the cut given the popularity of the Little Rock Bible Study Program.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
