Suggestion: resource request and Bible word study
In some recent threads, I've discovered some of the limitations of Logos
for Hebrew word studies. Don't get me wrong, the tools are very
powerful but there are some things that could increase the power:
1. Suggested by another user - the ability to add search resource collections as in Passage Guides
2. For the Hebrew, a historical linguistics section showing the evolution of a word in Hebrew, Aramaic, Syriac, Coptic, Ugartic, Akkadian ... i.e. word families similar to Shipley's work on Indo-European roots in English; when some of the other early Indo-European translations become available, a similar section for Greek, Latin, Old Church Slavonic, Old Gothic, AngloSaxon etc. would be helpful.
3. A My Content section where one could find relevant user-generated diagrams - frames, webs, generative rules etc.
Until Logos puts these tools at my fingertips, does anyone know of a good historical linguistics book for Semitic or more broadly Afro-Asiatic languages?
