Curious. I thought the USCCB withdrew permission for the older NAB. I wonder what the story is here

Wordsearch has the rights / Logos bought Wordsearch / ergo Logos owns the rights along with Wordsearch
At least that's my thinking if you're right about the rights being withdrawn from Logos.

At least that's my thinking if you're right about the rights being withdrawn from Logos.
My understanding would be that while WS users probably have the right to have the resources restored, FL can’t start selling it to others without permission from the publisher (USCCB)

I take Phil's post here https://community.logos.com/forums/p/193801/1116803.aspx#1116803 to mean that Faithlife now owns WS's contracts and thus they can sell to whomever they like as per the contracts that WS has with the various publishers.

It's interesting that this appears purchasable. I would've guessed Faithlife was limited to reproducing it for those who held an old license for it under Wordsearch.
FWIW, note that this is the 1986 NAB (NAB w/ RNT), not the 1991 NAB that long-time Logos users would have from pre-NABRE days. The 1991 edition included a revision of the Psalms; the 1986 edition has the 1970 NAB Psalter.

Thanks for bringing this up, David. It's a good question.
We did indeed acquire contracts with the Wordsearch acquisition (as Tom points out).
However, there are some titles that we only reproduced for people who had an old license under WS and we can't sell them.
This may be one of those titles. As you can imagine, reviewing all the contracts is a pretty big undertaking (thousands of titles and hundreds of contracts). It's possible there will be a handful of titles we discover that we can't sell. In that case, we'll notify anyone who placed a pre-order.
I have asked our contracts team to review this title specifically as it does seem suspicious.
I'll let you know when I have more information.

Yes, I can confirm it’s the 1991 psalms. I remember picking up Libronix instead of one of the other Bible software packages in an overstock store because it was the only one with the NAB... and that began my 14 year journey with FL

I was lucky enough to find an old "Catholic Scholar's Pack" in mint condition on ebay a couple years ago. At the time, they were able to activate the license on my account since it was new, unlicensed. This gave me the NAB and the Original New Jerome Biblical Commentary. I am not sure if they still honor old license codes (I thought I saw that they were stopping that a bit ago), but if they are, then this would be one route to look for. I love the original NAB and it is my default/priority Bible.

For those looking for the NAB I spotted this on eBay. It is an old logos Catholic Answers Pack in new condition.
the NAB is on it.you want to confer with a Logos sales person that they still do this, but a few years ago I found a Catholic Scholar Pack on eBay in new condition/never registered. I was able to give the the license code and they applied it to my account.
For one of the old cds I bought, I did have to install it to retrieve the code - so just be aware of that possibility.again, double check with faithlife that they still do this as I thought I saw something awhile ago that they discontinued accepting these old licenses.
There is a possibility that old Wordsearch licenses could also be activated that might have the NAB on them - but, again, check with faithlife!I hope this helps someone!

Not at all - especially for a resource you can no longer get (and possibly a few others one might not have). But again, I caution to first contact FL to make sure they will still apply to account if u give them the license code!

Definitely. I was just recalling the prices back in 2006 when I first started with Libronix. Back then, Bibles were like $39.99.

I haven't seen it on eBay for awhile - but I was able to get the old Jerome Bible Commentary through a new Catholic Scholar's Pack that was being sold (license wasn't activated yet and Faithlife was able to apply to my account). Keep an eye out on ebay/create a watchlist and one might resurface
