Losing sound control

Hi, we are experiencing problems controlling our sound through our sound system. When running proclaim the sound will suddenly switch to the main computer instead of the iPad running the sound control program. Does anyone else have this problem? We are running sound through a cable to our new sound system and using hdmi to project to the tv which we are looking into wireless connection.
