I would like to be able to "convert" a text comparison window into a floating window layout that enables full use of the bible text.
Why you might ask? Today, here's what I cannot effectively do with a text comparison window:
- Cannot highlight
- Cannot take notes on that text/those word(s)
- Cannot Add to Passage List
- Cannot view with visual filters
- Cannot get RI view of english/original language
- Cannot amplify on verse/phrase/term (use typical uber-right-click-menu to dig deeper)
- No sympathetic highlighting
I realize one option is to add features to the existing text comparison function, and I don't think that's a bad move, but I can't see how it would be sufficient in any reasonable time (i.e. 1-2 years).
Instead I would like to propose that you add a function that turns a comparison window into a full fledged window layout (option to make it floating window instead of replace existing layout) with each bible in its own panel and another panel for other content (e.g. highlighter, commentary, etc. maybe just throw up the Information panel by default?)
This might dovetail nicely with the creation of Layout "templates"? Something that allows the user to define a verse driven layout or multi-paned floating window.
