And this one: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/197489.aspx have been interesting to follow and have given me pause...

I was playing around with the passage guide with a very important passage in the Catholic tradition (John 6:22-59).  When I went to look at the commentaries listed under 'Denomination' I was surprised that Catholic is not mentioned.  Some Catholic resources seem to be listed under the unnamed arrow.  See screenshot.  Is Verbum Catholic?  It is not really my business...but I wonder how many employees, besides Donald and T.L. are working on Verbum.  Try running factbook on 'Eucharist' and see if how many Catholic leads you receive.

I thoroughly enjoy my Verbum and spend many hours a day using it.  Wouldn't trade it for anything...I Love my Verbum but....

That seems to be a huge problem actually.

There used to be a bunch labelled "Catholic". I actually noticed that none are not too long ago, but I didn't report it at the time.

I too saw Commentaries under the "Catholic" heading not long ago. I remember submitting a list of commentaries that were Catholic but were not included under the Catholic heading so I know there used to be a category for "Catholic".  I hope this is fixed soon!

Given the importance of this issue--which is one of reduced functionality rather than functionality that has never existed--I don't feel bad asking for a status update three weeks on. (I would've expected it to have been fixed by now.)

This will be fixed with an updated version of the UAV dataset. I'm not sure exactly when this update will ship.

When Logos 9 waa first release FL staff argued certain groupings were not included because they are not denominations. Some users chimed in that Roman Catholic is not really a denomination either. I have no issue with there being a Roman Catholic grouping or Messianic Jewish grouping etc even If these groupings don’t fit the definition of denomination. Users Tag resources accordingly. FL should respect what users actually want v what they want and provide the groupings we want to be able to make better use of our libraries. Yes these are broad groupings and on the fringes lines may be blurred but much better to have these broad groupings that to have FL decide these grouping should not exist and lump everything that doesn’t fit into their own pre-conceived views of the world. It’s almost like they are wanting to downgrade those groupings and their views and beliefs, cancel them if you like by hiding them in the ‘undefined’ bin.

    Thank you. [:)]

I would have an issue with the Catholic grouping being mislabeled "Roman Catholic", were that to occur this time around, but I've made my concerns in that regard well known to Faithlife in the past and they have listened to them. [:)]

I attribute no such malice to Faithlife or any of its staff.
