Bug? Incorrect tagging in Exekiel 22:27

The word officials in Exekiel 22:27 is tagged with Princes of Israel where they are a separate group of people discussed in the earlier part of the chapter and in verse 25.

    It is difficult. v25 is "prophets" in MT (and ESV), but "princes" in LXX.  The Person  tagging reflects "prophets".

    v27 can be "nobles"/"princes", "commanders", or "officials" in MT ("princes" in ESV) and is tagged as "princes".

    Different translations reflect their preference.

    There is an issue between HB and LXX. In v.25, the lemma in HB is (נָבִיא) usually translated 'prophet', and in LXX the lemma is a participial form of (ἀφηγέομαι) which is less common and means 'someone in front.' In this instance ἀφηγέομαι refers to leaders of some sort. In v.27, the lemma in HB is (שַׂר) usually translated 'prince', and in LXX the lemma is (ἄρχων) which is much more common and is usually translated 'ruler.'

    So, the issue is whether the sphere of leadership is the same in v.25 as v.27. Since v.26 points to a different referent, namely "priests', I think that the 3 verse are meant to highlight the corruption of 3 separate spheres of leadership in Jerusalem. The prophets (v. 25), the priests (v. 26), and the political leaders (v.27). So our tagging matches that understanding and has sufficient textual support for that tagging.

    When I came across this, I was using the NIV, the difference between princes in v25 and officials in v27 led me to assume these were referring to different levels of leadership.

    I'll need to reconsider!
