Opening Inline Search Results in Same Panel

I know I am missing something very simple, and I've looked high and low for the answer, but I am stumped...

Below is my layout.  Most of the panel tabs are hyperlinked.  You can see tabs in the right panel linking back to the Bibles in the left panel, they are sitting on Matt 5:6.

Now, I open an inline search in the ESV looking for "groan" in Romans.  ESV search responds and hides all the rest of the Bible.

What I want to do is make Romans 8:22 the active verse in the ESV and subsequently all the hyperlinked tabs.

But if I click the mouse on Romans 8:22, Logos will open a new session of the ESV in the right panel.  Don't want another tab opened.

If the cursor is placed within the verse, the Active verse box will change to Romans 8:22.  But nothing else happens.  If I place my cursor in the Active verse box and hit enter, nothing happens.

If I go the next Bible over, nothing happens.

If I deselect the inline search icon, the ESV Bible will unhide the rest of the Bible, showing the Active verse box as Romans 8:22.  If I leave the ESV tab, everything else is still hyperlinked to Matthew 5:6.  If I step back into the ESV, it is still on Romans 8:22 but everything else is still tied to Matthew.

This has been driving me nuts.  I know I am missing something simple.

Please advise.

Open the Locator Bar from the panel menu and set it for Search Result. The Bar and Reference box will still display the current passage after the Search, but press the Up or Down arrow to indicate the desired result and the passage will be reflected in the Reference box and your linked resources!

    Thanks Dave

It was interesting that after you walked me thru the process, I looked at Panel Menus for all the different Bibles I use and found they all had different selections, i.e. some had showing the Locator Bar and others didn't.  I should have known (from other Panel Menu selections) that whatever is set in one panel isn't inherited in another panel.  But I didn't know to use the drop down and change from Verse to Search Results.

I looked at the program global settings to see if there was something there to trigger for certain types of resources opened in panels.  Nope.

Also thought that using Parallel resource sets may be a way to maintain the same Panel Menu settings, nope.  It appears to just bring forth the selections from the last time that resource was used.

Multiple Resources Display could work, but on a laptop screen that is a lot to display unless the panel is floated.

Thanks again, I'll file this in my how-to-do-stuff notes.
