This is the base post to try the new forums as the file distribution method. Note that to zip the files and provide a list of the files does involve extra steps. I will try attaching additional files as replies to this message so that subsequent offerings will be easily found.  Before the NG forum format is extinguished (reaches nirvana as the Buddhists say) I will repost the material available only there.

Please let me (and Logos) know if you have any difficulties with the zipped attachments.  The file list is a clip of a screen image; this clip is also included in the zipped file. So let's see how this all works.

    Hi MJ

Thanks again for another weekly gift. The creedsv have been very informative.

The problem I have this time around is that the above list is not showing up

in my Library. Can you help please? Thanks.

    Regards,

    Gerald

    Thanks MJ

A little more involved, but loaded without incident. Again, thank you for all this hard work.

    Hi MJ,

Worked very well, and while there are extra steps in handling a zip file, the fact the all the files are in
one “container”, makes the distribution of them to my desired
folders more convenient. Thanks for all your work.

    In Christ,

    Paul

    Gerald -

What folder did you unzip the files into? You do have to do the extra unzip step.  Another possibility, I copied the file names as .html files but the real files as .lbxoeb files.  That's a quirk of my work flow. so if you looked for  the files with the wrong extension, I apologize for confusing you.

    Hi MJ

Thanks for reply. I eventually got things sorted out - for some reason winzip didn't properly unzip first time around.

Not so sure about the forums - think the newsgroups are still the best.

    Regards,

    Gerald

Thank you very much for your work.

By the way, you don't have to download zip file and then extract it. You just open it directly and extract to your destination folder. Just one step, no problem with zip format.

My first attempt to reply to myself to pass a second zip file ended in failure ... somehow I closed the message without clicking on the post button. Silly computer should have known what I wanted to do.

This set of creeds is primarily evangelists but also has 1 historical and at least 1 denominational creed.  I took the file list clip off my zip utility - this gives the files the correct extension but the first entry is out of sequence.

This is a repost of everything I previous posted with the initial title word of "article". This is the last piece to test for ease of use. Note that one file is manually added after the partial screen capure.  The list of files exceeded my screen space.

Isn't it amazing how dumb these machines can be?  They only do what you tell them and never seem to understand what you want.

Thanks Martha for all your labor's of love.

Question: I notice you list all the relevant files with .html endings. Why can you not list them, like you did in the NG's. I know I am exposing my ignorance of forums here, but just curious.

I tried opening the file last evening to install them to my folder and my goodness, my computer went wild, opening and closing IE like nothing I've seen before. I had the hardest time even shutting my computer down.

I have opened other ZIP files in the past (not many) and never had this problem.

Thanks again for your tireless work and sharing, guess I will just forego the ZIP's.

I have switched from the .html endings because it caused some confusion - it was simply easier for me because I had the list built for identifying what to process through the PBB generating software and for moving the files into the "posted" folder. I have to remember to capture the list when I zip the files in order to have the list with the correct extension (and 1 file out of order).

I am concerned, however, that your computer went wild. That's the sort of problem I want to hear about. I wonder if it is a matter of zipped file size or a maximum number of files for your machine to handle it correctly. If you would like, I could email the file that caused you a problem to your email address which would tell us if it was a browser problem.

    Hi Martha,

It not too much trouble, please email the file. I have enjoyed getting all the other PBB's you have done and no problem with being able to Save All to my folder. This zip thing has me stumped.

    Thanks Martha, that worked perfectly.

    BTW, I am running IE7.0.

This group has several articles in it including one on Jewish creeds and one on creeds and Gnosticism.  The creeds have no specific thrust - Baptist, Jewish and a number of evangelists make up the bulk of them. I have been working on updating the index as well as a template for analysizing creeds (a separate thread). Enjoy the holiday.

This is a reposting from the NG of the documents labeled "Document," "Poetry," and one book - Paradise Restored. Nothing new in the group.

There are free zip programs that you can download and it will zip and unzip these files.  Just do a search on google for zip software
