Which Reader Is Best For The Logos App?

Hi, ya'll!
I am a longtime Logos user. Back in the day, I could send my Logos resources to my Kindle for easier reading (I hate reading books on my PC monitor). I still have those. But I want to be able to have a device that will allow me to read books. My Kindle Paperwhite of course will not do that. Long story short...which device would I need to be able to run the Logos mobile app? Is there a Kindle that will. An Android tablet that will. Not interested in Apple products.

It sounds like you may want to consider an Android e-ink device that can run the Logos mobile app.

This is an old thread, but it can get you up to speed a little on what you are wanting to search for: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/131546.aspx.

There are other threads that discuss some of the newer devices. Hopefully some of the Logos faithful who use these devices will see this thread and chime in.

I use the logos app on both a Kindle Fire tablet and an Onyx Boox. I don't have anything apple either.

Hi James! For clarification: Your Paperwhite CAN still do this. It isn't as simple as clicking a "send to kindle" button, but it isn't particularly complicated either.

1. "Export" the book using the "print/export" feature in Logos.
2. Make sure all of the sections desired are checked
3. Choose your file format (I think Word might be preferable... else PDF)
4. Check to see if everything worked fine*
5. Email the document to your kindle**

* Larger books may need to be exported in sections. There is a 100 page limit to exporting.
** Your kindle email address can be found on Amazon's website.

These steps will provide identical results to the old "send to kindle" feature.

If I had to buy a new e-reader for Logos now, I'd go for one of the new Onyx devices. The devices in the "old thread" are mostly no longer supported due to outdated Android versions.

I've heard much good about those devices. Fast, reliable, some even have a colour screen. The one downside that keeps me from buying is the lack of a memory card slot.

I currently use a Likebook Mars, but since the last major firmware upgrade, the Logos app has major syncing issues. It's still working, but a lot less smoothly than it used to be. Also, the Android version is stuck on 8.1, so it will likely run out of support soon. On the positive side, there's a memory slot, which can be used for Logos resources, and the device is much more affordable than the Onyx readers.

Since both these manufacturers currently have their issues, I'm using a Kindle Fire as my main reading device now. It's even more affordable, and can copy Logos resources on the memory card too. I do prefer reading on an e-ink screen, and always keep my eyes open for new Onyx devices in hope that one day they'll re-introduce memory card slots.
