Can't find images to upload into presentation

So for whatever reason, when I go to find new .jpeg files to upload in my presentation. All of the older ones that's been previously uploaded years past are still there, but the new ones dont show up once looking in their location once I go into import media. If anyone could help me out with this situation it would be greatly appreciated.

What sort option do you have selected? Should be a selector in the top bar towards the right. 

you can change it to newest to ensure you see your recent uploads.

So it's weird, when I try to locate them on my computer is where I'm having the issues, so for example if I saved the image to the desktop, and then open Proclaim to search the image on the desktop it doesn't show.

Only images with the appropriate file type will show. I notice that you have a four letter extension. Images on my Mac have .jpg
