A foundational work for the practice of spiritual friendship and spiritual direction. I read it in seminary, for a class on the Cistercians. Such a great little book, presented in the form of three dialogues between the monk Aelred and three spiritual friends, Ivo, Walter, and Gratian. It opens "You and I are here, and I hope that Christ is between us as a third." Or in another translation, "Here we are, you and I, and I hope a third, Christ, is in our midst." (cf. Mt 18:20). The essence of Christian friendship.

I would love to see it in Logos format.

Faithlife has so many other works by Aelred in pre-pub, but this, his best known one, is missing.
