    Hello update 1/3/23

I have decided, since I have put this much work in so far; I am going to finish it the correct way and put all 825 Puritan and Non-Conformist authors in their proper alphabetical order in the Index. Doing this also allows me to ensure no duplicate works or index markers. I now this will extend the time to completion around 2-4 months, but I believe it will be extremely beneficial. Everybody has been patient thus far, and just a little longer, and it will be almost flawless. I truly desire Logos to make this a no-cost resource, since they did not create it, and, there is no copyright restriction; with that in mind, I have to make it as perfect as I can to uphold the stringent quality of works Logos is known for. If they do pick it up, it would save us a lot of time in installing it, and we would be able to use it on the web-app. Thank you for your understanding; and even though it really doesnt matter where a work is in the Index, I believe creating it in an orderly fashion is best all around. I have suspended access to the V1 (or original Index) for the time being. In no way do I plan to withhold this index from people, or charge for it in the future; I just want to stop people from downloading an inferior index. When this is over, there will be two Indexs available. A corrected one, and an original one with no corrections, Thank you for your understanding; but having been at this for over a year now, I think these will be created rather smoothly, as I dont have to stop to link the works, create markers; and I know what to do and what not to do in creating them. God Bless.

Update 2/6/23 pleasure forgive the link to another site; this has been an ongoing project, and just want to cap it off not leaving those who have been following in the dark. Not intending to steer or take away from Logos consumer base in any way. This is strictly for the edification of His Bride.

Hello all, I hope this is allowed since it has been an ongoing goal, so here it goes.

For all who have been waiting for the Logos Puritan Index, sadly, after much consideration, I have chosen to discontinue that endeavor. There are several reasons.

    1. Logos will not post it to their User Created Works Wiki, because, it contains many works that Logos charges for, an example; Logos charges almost $300 for Perkins works alone (which is not included in the Ultimate Puritan Package of 180 works at almost $1200.) Yet, the Index I am creating includes Perkins, Bunyan, Sibbes, Manton, Owen, Baxter, etc. I have reached out to multiple people with no results. This is not to say Logos prices are not fair, they certainly are, but me offering them for free, and them charging for the high quality editions is still counter-productive to their business model which we all depend on so they can flourish.

    2. Almost no Logos user is going to have the patience to manually install 250 or so 2-4,000 page Personal Books. And putting so much work in for only a handful of people is frankly, not worth it (because....)

    3. Logos will most likely never take it on as an official resource, free for the user, which would enable the possibility to forgo manual install, and enable web-app usage. If we compare the almost $1200 (when not on sale) for the Puritan Collection, at 180 works, imagine a collection of 6,000 works covering 860 Puritans and Non-Conformists. It will simply be out of most peoples range, which was definitely not the intended goal, if they do take it on but charge for it.

So, if this is allowed, please let me link the alternative, simply for the edification of the church. We at Project Puritas have created an app called Puritan Search. It is in no way as powerful as Logos, but what it does, it does well. And that is bringing all 500,000 pages or so of Puritan texts into a fully searchable format. It is completely free, and ready to run out the unzip. Given the above, and feedback from others regarding the little likelihood many would utilize the Puritan Index, again, at 250 PB's upload; this is a more viable option al around.

This not only doesnt step on Logos' toes regarding their business model and future plans for incorporating high quality Puritan works in their program, but offers everything I (and we at Project Puritas) originally envisioned to bring free Puritan access to the masses. The software can be found here, and again, we are not trying to sell anything, it is totally free. www.puritansearch.org

For those who would like to try and pick up the project, or for Logos themselves (if any rep is reading) the links to the works in EEBO-TCP can be found here https://www.zotero.org/.../eebo-tcppublic_domain.../library,

I apologize to the limited people who were looking forward to a Logos alternative, but given the all above described situations, it doesnt seem beneficial or being a good steward of the time allotted to further pursue this. I hope every body has a wonder day/night. God Bless.
