I keep seeing this ad but it doesn't bring me to an actual page. Maybe Logos 10 is coming Oct 10th?

Where did you see this ad?
I saw this morning on the bottom of the forums page, horizontal banner. Looks like it was posted prematurely, it’s gone now. The link wasn’t working but contained words logos 10
Everyone get ready to update your thread posts about how much you've spent lifetime at Logos
I'm actually glad to see Faithlife actually promoting the upcoming release instead of just dropping it with a live stream announcement the day of. The best we've gotten is a little teaser over the weekend before a launch. I'm actually glad to know when the launch event actually is in advance.

Assuming that we've all guessed the meaning of this event correctly, hopefully this new approach to marketing a new version comes with increased capacity for sales and better pre-release proofreading, link-checking, Verbum Now-base package PDP integration, etc., than has sometimes occurred in the past. Always better for those things to get fixed before release, rather than after...
Interesting though that I'm not seeing the announcement in Verbum or on Verbum.com.
But yes, I never understood why Faithlife didn't promote an upcoming release and try to generate more buzz and excitement. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone is just sitting around waiting for the latest version of Logos to come out. You might actually want to tell some people a new version is coming with more than a cryptic hint the Saturday/Sunday before.
The whole issue of major updates literally goes back centuries (in computer time). If a Bible software publisher announced a major update with a date, competitor Bible software publishers would simply schedule 'their' update the week before. Like a balloon that you forgot to tie off, there goes the Bible software users (and the head of marketing).
The problem became so acute, that publishers would literally sit up nights thinking of hints that competitors wouldn't recognize (but their own sheep ... err users would). Even that became a problem, so that eventually announcements had to be made mere seconds before rollout.
Bible software users love their updates.
Probably one thinks I'm joking (and I am). But another Bible software company just weeks ago, offered a major sale ... which included a free coming major update. Then, after that, offered a half-price coming update. Clearly Logos couldn't overcome 'that' with seconds-before-launch announcements! Another Bible software company can now just twiddle their development thumbs.

One reason is they don't want customers to stop buying for several weeks while waiting for the new release.
I received it in an email.
Where did you see this ad? I received it in an email.
Yes, thank you! I have since gotten it through several outlets (email, banner ad on website, home page of software). Very exciting!
Wow. This means I only have 19 days left to enjoy the two-year-old notice atop Logos.com reminding me to buy my discounted Mobile Ed courses, which I bought two years ago.
Ha! Good one, Robert. I know what you mean. But maybe they'll continue the ad even after the next release! [;)]
So true, I got the two with logos 9 and am still being reminded.... however I still have to do one of them.
Hey Mark! [:)]
I know what you are talking about and I know who you are addressing, but others might not. (Users <can> hit the "replied" button in your post to get back to the original, but I already knew the context). When you respond to someone, it is best to use a "regular" reply and then to hit the "quote" mark. When you do, the context is provided for everyone. [Y]
For everyone else's benefit, here is what Mark was responding to:
Everyone seems to think the big announcement is Logos 10. What if it's something else, like say, a trailer for "LOGOS: THE MOTION PICTURE."
Yeah, that makes a lot more sense.[:P] With a big hairy monster.[+o(] A Wokie instead of a Wookie.[;)]
Or maybe something like "Logos with hypersonic searching..." ... Oh yeah!
One of my first programs was to decipher the "Shell-Metzer Sort" .... It was fast.... but no one remembers that stuff .... [:(]
Do you all think "Live in the Word" (adjective, not verb) means that we will be able to use all of the library resources on our desktop app without having to download them, similar to how the mobile app works?
Yes, let's speculate on new features for Logos 10 because speculating is fun. lol
Maybe is an announcement of the acquisition of another company.
Or maybe is an announcement of another name change for the company.
Simon, read the wordings in this link, and it states what is all about:

I had seen this link and so know what it is really about just playing the speculation game.
