I keep seeing this ad but it doesn't bring me to an actual page. Maybe Logos 10 is coming Oct 10th?

Where did you see this ad?
I saw this morning on the bottom of the forums page, horizontal banner. Looks like it was posted prematurely, itβs gone now. The link wasnβt working but contained words logos 10Β

Speaking of history, in the past years it was also highly rewarding to make purchases of new Logos releases through one of the various partner pages.
(Just a small reminder to all of us who get over-excitedly easily and purchase at the first sight of availability.)
It is even on my Homepage within Logos.Β
The red banner at the top of www.logos.comΒ takes you here:Β https://www.logos.com/logos-event.
It is showing on my homepage too.
October 10th (10/10) is a perfect marketing opportunity to launch Logos 10.
I am looking forward to "epic prizes."Β I only ever won one in my life.Β Actually, my wife did: a $100 grocery shopping spree.
I have now seen it as a banner on the website as well as on the homepage!Β Exciting!
Everyone get ready to update your thread posts about how much you've spent lifetime at Logos
I'm actually glad to see Faithlife actually promoting the upcoming release instead of just dropping it with a live stream announcement the day of. The best we've gotten is a little teaser over the weekend before a launch. I'm actually glad to know when the launch event actually is in advance.

Assuming that we've all guessed the meaning of this event correctly, hopefully this new approach to marketing a new version comes with increased capacity for sales and better pre-release proofreading, link-checking, Verbum Now-base package PDP integration, etc., than has sometimes occurred in the past. Always better for those things to get fixed before release, rather than after...
Interesting though that I'm not seeing the announcement in Verbum or on Verbum.com.
But yes, I never understood why Faithlife didn't promote an upcoming release and try to generate more buzz and excitement. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone is just sitting around waiting for the latest version of Logos to come out. You might actually want to tell some people a new version is coming with more than a cryptic hint the Saturday/Sunday before.
The whole issue of major updates literally goes back centuries (in computer time). Β If a Bible software publisher announced a major update with a date, competitor Bible software publishers would simply schedule 'their' update the week before. Β Like a balloon that you forgot to tie off, there goes the Bible software users (and the head of marketing).
The problem became so acute, that publishers would literally sit up nights thinking of hints that competitors wouldn't recognize (but their own sheep ... err users would). Even that became a problem, so that eventually announcements had to be made mere seconds before rollout.
Bible software users love their updates.
Probably one thinks I'm joking (and I am). Β But another Bible software company just weeks ago, offered a major sale ... which included a free coming major update. Β Then, after that, offered a half-price coming update. Β Clearly Logos couldn't overcome 'that' with seconds-before-launch announcements! Β Another Bible software company can now just twiddle their development thumbs.
I never understood why Faithlife didn't promote an upcoming release
One reason is they don't want customers to stop buying for several weeks while waiting for the new release.
I agree with your point. Β But I suppose I'm the exception ... the last few updates, I loaded up on the early fall library-extender sales (bought the store out). Β I've no use for the packages, and don't need the update per se.

I was thinking similarly. If you want me to buy something before a release, put it on sale. I usually don't buy stuff unless it's on sale anyway, so there's no change in my buying patterns leading up to a release unless there's a really good sale.
Well, if it is, then my prediction of 10/24 that I made 2 years ago will be debunked.
I was kind of expecting this when I saw the date. I am delighted with L9, but L10 will be welcome. I am assuming it's going to be native for Apple Silicon. That would automatically get some folks to hit the order button.Β
Looking forward to LOGOS 10 on 10/10.

The recent Apple event likely already affected some customers budget and discretionary spending capacity.
I saw this tread and the announcement just before hitting the buy button on a product that would have taken my budget that will now go to a Logos upgrade instead.
I received it in an email.
Where did you see this ad? I received it in an email.
Yes, thank you!Β I have since gotten it through several outlets (email, banner ad on website, home page of software).Β Very exciting!
Wow. This means I only have 19 days left to enjoy the two-year-old notice atop Logos.com reminding me to buy my discounted Mobile Ed courses, which I bought two years ago.
I won a puppy at the 1961 Alabama State Fair. And that was all she wrote.

Ps. I even got a free book for signing up for the event πππ
I hope the release of Logos 10 makes the price worthwhile.....
Ha! Β Good one, Robert. Β I know what you mean. Β But maybe they'll continue the ad even after the next release!Β [;)]

Yep and in the past if you were a connect subscriber you got an additional discount... 5%? I think it would be ok to say that some of the best discounts are right at the beginning? Last time you got a free course as well. After that, the next best discounts come when the cycle ends?
So true, I got the two with logos 9 and am still being reminded.... however I still have to do one of them.
Hey Mark! [:)]
I know what you are talking about and I know who you are addressing, but others might not. (Users <can> hit the "replied" button in your post to get back to the original, but I already knew the context). When you respond to someone, it is best to use a "regular" reply and then to hit the "quote" mark. When you do, the context is provided for everyone. [Y]
For everyone else's benefit, here is what Mark was responding to:Β

Everyone seems to think the big announcement is Logos 10.Β What if it's something else, like say,Β a trailer for "LOGOS: THE MOTION PICTURE."
Yeah, that makes a lot more sense.[:P] With a big hairy monster.[+o(] A Wokie instead of a Wookie.[;)]
Or maybe something like "Logos with hypersonic searching..."Β ...Β Oh yeah!
One of my first programs was to decipher the "Shell-Metzer Sort" .... It was fast.... but no one remembers that stuff ....Β Β [:(]
Do you all think "Live in the Word" (adjective, not verb) means that we will be able to use all of the library resources on our desktop app without having to download them, similar to how the mobile app works?
Yes, let's speculate on new features for Logos 10 because speculating is fun. lol
All Iβm hoping for is for my dynamic price to be really low like last time πππ
Are we talking pocket change, folding money, CC, or PP?
In other words, you are hoping for very little change in the content of the libraries. I'm hoping for some new features that require blocks of new resources that we've asked for over and over. Think Justo, for example, or McGinn, or Armenian apocrypha (okay I haven't asked for it over and over ... but I am reading it in dead tree form).
I think this is an appeal to all Preachers everywhere to "Liven the Word." Too many congregations are dozing off during those long boring sermons. Liven it up!
I'd like all the searches, features and functions to work intuitively according to me.[;)]

Along with MJ's "Dead tree form..." I am bowled over....[:D]
Maybe is an announcement of the acquisition of another company.Β
