Slow Typing Response in Notes [Logos 10]

I've been using Logos 9 for about two years now. It is amazing software, but my biggest complaint is how slow it is to type a note. I upgraded to Logos 10 because it is supposedly faster, but I still have the same problem.

The application lags so badly that I am using Notepad to type my notes first and then I copy and paste into Logos. Looking back into the forums of previous Logos versions, it seems that this has been a problem for some time. Is there anyway to get this fixed in future updates?

Welcome to the forums, Joseph.

You did not mention which version or computer hardware you are using. I can't type fast enough to see any delay.

Here's my guess: A faster storage medium (solid state drive instead of disk drive) and/or more RAM memory might well fix it.

Another guess: Do you see this lag in any other application? If yes, there might be a background process that is looking at each keystroke, which would slow down what appears on the screen. If that's not the problem, then I'm all out of ideas.

I have the same problem and it was especially laggy yesterday. I think it has something to do with the notes tool constantly syncing as you type. Maybe FL servers were slow last night.

Yep, I have the same experience that you've had. I will often finish typing a couple words, and have to wait a second before they show up. I do hope they fix that soon. It's extremely frustrating.

I was also having this issue after purchasing a new laptop this past week, but I believe I've found the solution. My new laptop has an 11th gen intel i7 processor. I was not having any issues on an older intel laptop, or on my desktop with an AMD processor. The new laptop, however, lagged considerably, and this was especially noticeable when typing (e.g. in the sermon editor, in notes, in search, etc.)

I discovered that the lag was somewhat less when I would lower my display resolution (from native 4k to 1080p). This leads me to suspect there's some kind of issue with Logos and newer 11th gen intel processors (probably moreso with the Iris Xe graphics on them).

The solution I found was to go into program settings and turn "Hardware Acceleration" to "On." I'm honestly not sure why it was set to "off" on my PC to begin with, but this has completely solved the problem for me.

I hope this helps some of you as well.

I changed the Hardware Acceleration to on, and it is worse! Sermon manager is virtually unusable in its current state! I have no problem whatsoever with any other application, and this problem only started with my change to logos 10.

I have a brand new, significantly upgraded Surface Pro with Windows 11.

Thanks for sharing this tip, Cody! Unfortunately, I tried it and it didn't work for me. I have an Intel EVO i7 processor, and the tooltip box said that Hardware Acceleration doesn't work on all Intel chips. Maybe my chip's the one out of luck.

EVO is not a processor. What is the full name of your i7 processor (from Settings > About). When i7-11xxx (11th Gen) processors came out there was a fault with the Intel video driver but the fix should have flowed thru to your computer manufacturer's version by now. The latest driver from Intel suits my laptop, so I had no problems with Notes and videos once I was a able to use Hardware Acceleration. If the Driver Provider is Intel (in Device Manager > Display Adapters) then use their latest driver.

And it says that I've already got the latest drivers.

I'm having this same issue. I came here to see if there is a solution. My computer's specs are below:

Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-1115G4 @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.66 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

None of my other programs have this issue when I type. It is a Logos issue.

Have you tried enabling hardware acceleration in Logos's menu? This solved my problem and seems to have worked for several others here.
