BUG: About in Psalm Explorer froze

When I went to capture some text from the "about" in the Psalm Explorer, About no longer functioned in either the detail or the overview view. I made several attempts then killed the app to capture the logs. Other functions that I tried continued to work.

What I had done:

  • used Psalm explorer to verify that the Lexham Hebrew Bible was required, including reading the About
  • left it open
  • used the Compare Pericope tool
  • left it open
  • reviewed forum posting
  • meandered back to Psalm explorer going from overview to detail
  • discovered About no longer responded
  • Changed psalm under consideration
  • reaffirmed About no longer responded
  • switched to overview
  • reaffirmed About no longer responded
  • closes Compare Pericope tool
  • reaffirmed About no longer responded ... you get the picture.

    Hi MJ,

Thanks for reporting this and providing some context. We will take a look into it.

    Hi MJ,

Just want to confirm is the issue the about option wasn't presenting the menu or your Logos application froze and you couldn't perform any actions at all?

Based off the "what I had done" list it sort of seems the issue was the About option no longer responded. If so, I can run some test but right now the About menu is populating for me. Do you have any more concrete steps to get into that state? Have you replicated this behavior again or just that once?

The About button became non-responsive. Other things worked. I cannot replicate the behavior today.  However, I am becoming suspicious due to a number of similar issues that some storage/workarea is not getting triggered to rebuild correctly. I will have downloaded a resource, allowed it to index, but some function (not always related to the resource) will no longer work. Neither an application restart, a computer restart, or a reindex will make it work ... but two or three days later things are fine again.

Okay, thanks for the information. I'm going to allocate some time today and see if I can get a repro the button to be un-responsive, thanks for the details MJ.

Good news -- I believe I got a repro, just figuring out what I did prior to this. I think it has something to do with the back button. Here's a video of a state where the `about` button was unresponsive.

Yup, using the "<" button I think is the culprit.

I'll get a case written, thanks again for the report MJ.
